Coney Shack expands outside of New York City with the debut of their first out of market concept right here in Philadelphia. Chef, partner and founder Lawrence Mach teams up with Michael Tang of SET NoLibs to grand open Coney Shack at 3818 Chestnut Street this Friday, July 9th at 11:00am. Coney Shack started as a food cart in a parking lot of Coney Island back in 2013 and graduated to a food truck, a brick and mortar and then to a Times Square storage container pod-kitchen serving thousands of New Yorkers every week.

New Orleans’ famous World of Wings (WOW) will fly the coop and head north to Philadelphia this summer as the start of a major national expansion. Ballard Brands teams up with Garces restaurants for a new ghost kitchen that will operate out of The Olde Bar in Old City District. For Philly's wing lovers, this unique partnership is a win-win that combines the best of both worlds. Look for a menu of fresh (never frozen) wings, tenders and classic American snacks that showcase WOW's Southern signature sauces and made-from-scratch spice rubs, with new recipes and inspiration from Iron Chef Jose Garces and his culinary team. For the starting menu, look for signature sauces like WOW's world-famous ranch dipping sauce, snacks like Vermont White Cheddar Mac and Cheese, and loaded Shanghai tater tots.

Wonderspaces Adds Three New Installations at Fashion District in Time for Summer

Wonderspaces Philadelphia announces the debut of three new installations coming to the Philadelphia Fashion District just in time for summer. Starting Wednesday, June 30th, Wonderspaces welcomes Our Top 100 by Jody Servon, Erupture by Nicole Banowetz, and Micromonumental Mapping: The Essence of Creation by Limelight. The new exhibits join other recent additions and continuing installations, such as Submergence by Squidsoup, Body Paint by Memo Akten and Thank You Bags by Reed van Brunschot. Wonderspaces continues to be a unique, interactive and socially distanced activity for locals, neighbors and visitors in the heart of Center City. Wonderspaces is currently operating at reduced capacity, making the experience even more personal and intimate. Timed with the launch of these new installations, Wonderspaces will expand capacity to 20 people per every fifteen minutes. Masks are required for all visitors who are not fully vaccinated.

Baby Boom! Philadelphia Zoo Welcomes Adorable Baby Penguin, Sloth, Gibbon, Lemur and Langurs

Spring has officially sprung at the Zoo, with the explosion of animal births including a critically endangered Mongoose Lemur, two endangered Francois Langur’s, an endangered White-handed gibbon, a Hoffman two-toed sloth and a Humboldt penguin chick, considered Vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). All of the infants are doing well and are on exhibit at the Zoo - just in time for the holiday weekend.

Stina BYO Chef Bobby Saritsoglou joins forces with Chef Ari Miller of Musi on Tuesday, June 29th for a four-course collaboration dinner to raise money for The Attic Youth Center - as part of Philly Gay Pride Month and Stina’s Two Year Anniversary. The special menu for one night only includes options, such as Marinated Feta & Charred Lettuces, Fish Kebab Roasted in Fig Leaf. Malted Grain, Red Tahina. Dry-Aged Duck, Mint & Cherry Zhoug and Black Lime Malabi Charred Fruit & Olive Oil. Stickman Brews will also host a pop-up during the event with four beer pairings for each course, for only $10 for 8 ounce pours, or $5 for full-sized a la carte 16 ounce pours.
