Pennsylvania's Largest Food Truck Festival Returns to Philadelphia

The largest food event in Philadelphia - and one of the largest food truck festivals in America - is back and bigger than ever! StrEAT Food Festival returns to Manayunk on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Over 70 food trucks and 20 gourmet food vendors of the region’s top food trucks and food vendors will line historic Main Street for the day, serving up menus that range from savory BBQ and global street food to decadent desserts and sweet treats. In addition to the food trucks, the festival will also feature gourmet food vendors, unique shopping options and live music throughout the day. New for 2026, the festival will feature an all-new, expanded family area, creating even more space for guests to relax, explore, and enjoy the day. The extended footprint also allows for additional food trucks and vendors, making this year’s festival the largest StrEAT yet. Main Street Manayunk will be closed to vehicle traffic to allow all visitors a chance to explore the historic neighborhood. There’s been an exciting development for the Delaware River in Philadelphia – freshwater mussels have been found! In a survey recently conducted by the Discovery Center, Aquatic Research and Restoration Center (ARRC), Audubon Mid-Atlantic, Pennypack Environmental Center, and Riverfront North Partnership (RNP) there is confirmation that these helpful bivalves have been found near Pennypack Creek. Freshwater mussels have been scarce along the Delaware River due to multiple stressors. With the help of the 1972 Clean Water Act, community science, and multiple local science organizations, this marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to restore the Delaware River Watershed.

Following the five-year tenure of Paige Price, who stepped down to focus on commercial theatre producing, Magar and Dobrowsky will start their official duties this September. Magar is an Egyptian-American director whose work has been seen across the US as well as internationally, and her many accolades include an Obie Award for Directing (2018, Is God Is by Aleshea Harris), the “Break Out Award” from the Stage Directors and Choreographers Union and her Lortel-winning revival of Anna Deveare Smith’s Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992 is set to open at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, MA, this fall. Dobrowsky is the former Associate Artistic Director and Director of New Play Development at Trinity Repertory Company, a Tony-award winning theater located in Providence, RI. He has two decades of experience producing high-quality regional theater, with a particular focus on community engagement, creating education programs for young people, and developing world premiere plays and musicals. Together they possess a robust artistic skill set, a broad, deep network of actors, directors, and playwrights, and world class directing and producing abilities. They will partner with current Managing Director Emily Zeck to set the stage for PTC’s new chapter, which begins this fall with the World Premiere of The Tattooed Lady opening Friday, November 4, as PTC celebrates 15 years in the Suzanne Roberts Theatre.
