Philly Sushi Whisperer Chef Kevin Yanaga and Glu Hospitality Debut Omakase by Yanaga in Fishtown

Philly's Sushi Whisperer Kevin Yanaga and Glu Hospitality announce the grand opening of Omakase by Yanaga in Fishtown at 1832 Frankford Avenue. Omakase is a Japanese cuisine style “menu” that is completely left in the hands of the Chef. Chef Yanaga will be preparing his Kaiseki style Omakase, in the intimate and exclusive eight-seat dining area attached to the already existing Izakaya by Yanaga restaurant. Through the discrete double doors to the back of Izakaya, each guest will enter a unique tasting room where they will sit facing Chef around a custom sushi bar, where Chef will perform his culinary craft nightly. Every diner will spend the 90 minute experience with the Chef watching his artistry, sharing stories and learning about the dishes. All 25 courses served will be specially selected by Yanaga. No two experiences are ever the same. Alongside the exclusive dining experience, sake and wine pairings tailored to the experience will be offered, as well as tea service and unique cocktails. Omakase by Yanaga is open Thursday through Saturday, with seatings at 6:00pm and 8:30pm. Reservations are required in advance.

Now the Philadelphia based brewery is making waves with a whole new series of summer fun with drag brunches thanks to their partnership with Summer of Troy Productions.Hot the heels (figuratively and literally) several sold-out Swiftie themed-drag shows in the spring, Evil Genius returns with a full line-up for July, August and September, including Hoedown Throwdown: A Country Drag Brunch celebrating Pop Country's biggest stars from Jolene to car keyin' Carrie and everything in between at Evil Genius Beer Company on July 24th; Ariana Grande Vs. Mariah Carey: Battle of The Vocal Wobblers Drag Brunch on August 7th, and Brunch (Taylor’s Version): A Swifties Drag Brunch Special on August 21st and September 4th. Philly AIDS Thrift, in collaboration with Philadelphia Film Society, presents a special Halloween-themed, family-friendly, socially distanced night at the movies! Philly AIDS Thrift 16th Anniversary Drive-In Movie Night featuring Stanley Kubrick's “The Shining” will take place at Philadelphia Navy Yard on Wednesday, October 13th, 2021, with doors opening at 6:00pm and showtime at 7:00pm. The Halloween classic is the perfect choice for the non-profit organization that has become known as one of the largest retail stores for costumes, accessories and decoration during the spooky season each and every year. In addition to the Drive-In Movie Night, Philly AIDS Thrift will give away birthday cake on October 16th (first come, first served) and host their annual 50% art sale including all frames and art supplies. Bristol Riverside Theatre (120 Radcliffe St.) is excited for an in-person return to the stage for the company’s 35th season. Co-Producing Directors Amy and Ken Kaissar are delighted to announce their first full season since taking the helm. The curtain will rise again starting with the two-person madcap musical Murder for Two from September 21st to October 10th. Next up, look for Skeleton Crew by award-winning playwright Dominique Morrisseau from November 2nd to November 21st. In winter, BRT presents a mystery between two high school students in Lauren Gunderson’s I and You from January 25th to February 13th.

Inis Nua Theatre presents the American premiere of HOW TO BE BRAVE by Welsh playwright Siân Owen. Starring Alice Yorke, Philadelphia Magazine’s 2019 Best Theatre Talent in Philadelphia. HOW TO BE BRAVE is a whirlwind solo show set in Newport, Wales that is a heartwarming story of motherhood and finding joy even in the most challenging moments. Garces Debuts Spanish Wine Shop with Opening of Tinto Pintxo in Rittenhouse

Garces announces the return of Tinto in Rittenhouse Square - but this time with a new wine bottle shop, a new menu and a new name. Tinto Pintxo is now open at 114 S. 20th Street, next to Village Whiskey. This new Spanish wine shop currently features 70+ wine selections by the bottle to go, tasting flights, rare/collectible gems, discounted bundles and even a new wine club. When indoor dining returns at 50% capacity, the kitchen will open and bring with it an exciting new menu focusing on pintxos, which are bites from northern Spain notably the Basque region. Tinto's wine shop will remain open as well when indoor dining begins. Wonderspaces Reopens at Fashion District with New Exhibits to Celebrate One Year Anniversary

Philadelphia's largest new cultural attraction is back! Wonderspaces Philadelphia is celebrating its reopening and one year anniversary with the debut of new installations that include Akousmaflore by Scenocosme, Thank You Bags by Reed van Brunschot, and a new VR film: Notes on Blindness: Into Darkness by Peter Middleton, James Spinney, Arnaud Colinart, and Amaury La Burthe. The new artworks join popular returning exhibits, including the glowing Submergence by Squidsoup, the sunrise and sunset of Sun by Phillip Schutte and the colorful Body Paint by Memo Akten. With the reopening of its doors, Wonderspaces will continue to implement health and safety protocols designed to keep patrons and team members safe during the global pandemic, including requiring face masks at all times, including for photos.

Evil Genius Beer Company announces the grand opening of two new beer pop-up shops in Northern Liberties and Rittenhouse neighborhoods. Serious beer with seriously funny names are coming to new Evil Genius Kwik-E Beer Pop-up Shops at 702 N. 2nd Street and 1602 Spruce Street starting today at 5:00pm. The Fishtown-based brewery will pivot and expand with their first ever brick-and-mortar locations beyond The Lab at 1727 Front Street with these first new beer shop concepts just in time for the holidays. Evil Genius Kwik-E Beer Pop-up Shops will now represent a new direction that Evil Genius is exploring for future pop-up and retail opportunities. The concept was developed to bring Evil Genius into new places in an all new way, and to ensure that Evil Genius can continue to keep employees employed and working through the pandemic - especially as indoor dining has closed at The Lab and cold weather will affect the outdoor Evil Genius Beer Garden.
