Indigo Girls, The Commodores, Russell Thompkins Jr. and More Announced for Bucks County Music Fest

Bristol Riverside Theatre’s William Penn Bank Summer Music Fest is returning to the Bristol Township Amphitheater with a line-up that will literally rock audiences through the decades. This summer’s concert series is bigger and better than ever, with performances announced from The Commodores (July 15), Russell Thompkins, Jr. & The New Stylistics with special guest Eddie Holman (July 16), Indigo Girls (August 25), 70’s Flashback (August 26), and culminating with Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone (September 9-10). All shows will be held at Bristol Township’s outdoor amphitheater located at 2501 Bath Road. Tickets are on sale now starting at $35 for general admission and $65 for premium admission. Bristol Riverside Theatre Presents A Few Good Men from May 3 to May 22, 2022 in Bucks County

Bristol Riverside Theatre (120 Radcliffe Street) closes its season with a chance to see Hollywood notable Aaron Sorkin’s groundbreaking debut that tells the story of a group of military lawyers assigned to defend two Marines in Guantanamo Bay. A Few Good Men, the play upon which the Academy Award nominated film is based, is about a team of lawyers who uncover a high-level conspiracy covered up in the name of patriotism.This searing drama runs May 3 to May 22, 2022. BRT Producing Director Ken Kaissar directs this show that opens on Thursday, May 5th. Tickets start at $43, with discounts available for students and military. A limited number of $10 tickets are available for Bristol Township residents courtesy of Flager & Associates, PC. As always, Bristol Borough residents can receive $5 tickets for preview performances. This OBIE Award recipient and multiple Audelco Award winner in its 2016 premiere at Atlantic Theatre Company in New York is the third play in her Detroit Project (A three play cycle that includes Paradise Blue and Detroit ‘67). The BRT production is directed by Cameron Knight, the new head of the BFA Acting Program at Rutgers University and features an ensemble of actors making their BRT debuts.

Bristol Riverside Theatre (120 Radcliffe Street) kicks off its 35th Anniversary Season with the hilarious two-person musical murder myster Murder for Two, written by Joe Kinosian (Book and Music) and Kellen Blair (Book and Lyrics). This side-splitting, madcap, quick-change musical is directed by J. Scott Lapp, and features the perfect blend of music, mayhem and murder! In this hilarious 90-minute show, two performers play 13 roles—not to mention the piano—in a witty and winking homage to old-fashioned murder mysteries. For this production, Kinosian himself returns to the stage as the Suspects, with the detective being played by Martin Landry. The show runs September 21 to October 10, 2021, with opening night announced for Thursday, September 23rd at 7:30pm.

The curtain is finally rising again! Dozens of regional theatres are back in full-swing preparing for their grand return to the stage for in-person, indoor productions. The upcoming 2021-2022 season is coming to life just as continuing COVID-19 variants continue to be an on-going cause for concern. For the protection of audiences and theatre workers, Theatre Philadelphia has developed and issued a new Audience COVID-19 Vaccine and Mask Policy for the start of the new season. Over 30 area theatres have already joined Theatre Philadelphia in signing on to the new policy. The policy includes asking theatre audiences to be fully vaccinated or provide a negative COVID-19 test taken within a certain time period ahead of showtime. Audiences will also be required to wear masks following the current policy of the City of Philadelphia for indoor theatre performances where all audiences are not vaccinated. Additionally, twelve area theatres have gone a step farther and will only allow patrons that are fully vaccinated.

In the virtual show, a resilient young South Carolina army widow, who loves Modern Family and talks to her Pygmy goats, angles for romance with a religious dairy farmer from Oklahoma. The Bucks County culture staple is bringing award-winning Mentalist Vinny DePonto’s virtual show, Mental Amusements, into the audience's homes September 24-26. Two types of tickets are available for this show. There are Front Row Tickets that put audiences right into the action. Front Row Ticket holders can participate in the show and have their minds read.
