St. Nicholas Italian Festival Returns To South Philly With All-Day Festival and Procession

One of South Philadelphia's most beloved Italian festivals is back. The Annual St. Nicholas of Tolentine Authentic Italian Festival returns on Sunday, October 6th to the 1700 block of South 9th Street. Last year thousands of people returned to the street to celebrate the event's post pandemic return with white, red and green confetti flying in the air. This year's event aims to be even bigger and better! This beloved tradition with roots back to the early 1900s returns to South Philadelphia with a full day of Italian music, food, dancing and traditions that bring out the hearts and appetites of the local community.

Beam Me Up, Philly: Star Trek Themed Spocktoberfest Added to 12th Annual Roxtoberfest

Roxborough Development Corporation announces the return of one of the neighborhood's most cherished fall traditions and one of its largest street festivals. The 12th Annual Roxtoberfest will be held on Saturday, October 5th from 12:00pm to 6:00pm, with a rain date set for Sunday, October 6th. The beloved signature festival brings together the best of family-friendly fall harvest celebrations paired with the traditional feel of a German beer fest including live music, local beer, 100+ vendors, food and drink, food trucks, pet costume contest, Oktoberfest costume contest, cemetary tours, family fun and more. This year, look for the addition of a new Star Trek themed Spocktoberfest with performances by the Roddenberries, a cosplay costume contest and a Star Trek themed vendor marketplace. Also new this year, look for the addition of a Scarecrow Walk and voting for best scarecrow in partnership with Friends of Gorgas Park. Roxtoberfest will take place on Ridge Avenue between Lyceum Avenue and Leverington Avenue, with a Scarecrow Walk extending from Leverington Avenue to Hermitage Street, connecting the family fun at Gorgas Park. Don your best pair of lederhosen, sip on New Ridge Brewing Co. beer, and join us for one of the neighborhood’s most cherished fall traditions.

Fishtown's largest street festival and block party is back - and bigger than ever! Fishtown District, with support from Penn Treaty Special Services District, presents Fishtown Fall Feastivale on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 12:00pm to 8:00pm, on Frankford Avenue, from Girard to Palmer. The all day, all ages block party will feature outdoor food and drink, DJs and German folk music, family fun and carnival games, charity celebrity dunk tank, artists and makers, vendors and community groups, and much more. Look for some of the biggest names in the city to serve street food, made in Fishtown beers and speciality seasonal sips outside under the autumn skies, including Evil Genius Beer Company, Two Robbers Spirits Co., Front Street Cafe, FNA Beer Tent Fundraiser, Johnny Brenda's, Bottle Bar East/ Mom Mom's Kitchen, Kraftwork, Heffe Tacos, R&D, LMNO, Frankford Hall, Fette Sau, Interstate Drafthouse/ Meyers Brewing Co., Fiore, La Colombe, Kismet Bagels, Tatsu Tea, Calle del sabor, Humpty's Dumplings, Fishtown Pickle Project, and many more. 2nd Annual Philly Black Wine Fest Celebrates Region's Black Wine Community at Penn Museum

Get ready to raise a glass of red, white and rose to celebrate Greater Philadelphia's Black wine community! The 2nd Annual Philly Black Wine Festival powered by Kabila Events returns on Saturday, September 14th, from 6:30pm to 11:30pm. Following the event's sold out debut in 2023, the event is back bigger in year two with a new location at the Penn Museum (3260 South Street), in University City. Formerly known as The University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, the museum will provide the perfect backdrop to the event with its riches of historic and diverse artwork and famed collections. The event itself will feature 20+ Black and minority owned businesses, featuring wine tastings, product samples, live music, art showcases, fashion, entertainment, food and drink vendors, and interactive experiences. This year's festival theme is Eden Noir, with fly and fashionable dress strongly recommended in white, green, blue, purple, animal print and/or floral.

Let the Mud Fly! 16th Anniversary Kensington Derby and Arts Festival Moves to Frankford Avenue

East Kensington’s long-time parade and arts festival is moving over to Frankford Avenue. Fishtown District, with support from Penn Treaty Special Services District, presents Kensington Derby and Arts Fest on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 12:00pm to 6:00pm, on Frankford Avenue, from York St to Huntingdon St. The event, which won Best of Philly in 2023, is back and ready to let the mud fly! Derby teams prepare human-powered sculptures crafted from recycled bicycles and other materials and ride their contraptions through various obstacles ending with a spectacular mud-pit finish at the arts festival grounds. Winners are then crowned in categories that have ranged over the years like Best Art, Best Costume, Best Engineering, Media Choice and Judge’s Choice. The parade is free to participate, open to all ages and abilities with a bike, helmet, and pun-y team name.

Manayunk Development Corporation announces the 35th Anniversary of the Manayunk Arts Festival on Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23, 2024. Three hundred exhibiting artists - and thirty emerging artists - will showcase the best in fine arts and crafts from across the country. Hundreds of thousands of collectors, buyers, designers and visitors are expected to flock to historic Main Street for the outdoor, closed street summer festival.

Pennsylvania's Largest Food Truck Festival Rolls into Manayunk with Largest Line-up Ever

One of the largest and most celebrated food truck festivals in America is back - and it's even bigger and tastier than ever! StrEAT Food Festival returns to Manayunk on Sunday, April 21st, from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Over 70 of the region's top food trucks and food vendors will line historic Main Street for the day, with menus that include everything from savory BBQ to sweet desserts - and everything in between. Festivities will also include shopping vendors, local artists and makers, Manayunk merchants, live music and other fun surprises. Main Street Manayunk will be closed to vehicle traffic to allow all visitors a chance to explore the historic neighborhood that is now celebrating its 200th anniversary.
