Manayunk Development Corporation announces the 35th Anniversary of the Manayunk Arts Festival on Saturday, June 22 and Sunday, June 23, 2024. Three hundred exhibiting artists - and thirty emerging artists - will showcase the best in fine arts and crafts from across the country. 2nd Street Festival Returns to Northern Liberties with Music, Food Trucks, Family Fun and More

Philadelphia's largest neighborhood summer festival is back and bigger than ever! The 13th Annual 2nd Street Festival will pop-up and take over Northern Liberties on Sunday, August 7, 2022, from 12:00pm Noon to 9:00pm. This year the event will extend to the largest footprint in the event's history, along N. 2nd Street from Spring Garden extending all the way to Girard clocking in at more than three-quarters of a mile long. The all-ages celebration includes restaurants, food trucks, beer gardens, family fun, live music, artists, pop-up shops and entertainment. Street food and summertime sips will be available from a giant list of 50+ restaurants, bars, breweries and food trucks, including 15 outdoor beer and cocktail gardens. Get ready to dance in the street with live music and DJs on two main stages, plus throughout the festival, with Moonroof, Bougie and the Beasts, Bickel Brothers Band, Mobbluz, Koser, M11son, Dell-P, Solar Circuit, Upholstery, Plush in the Box, Gretchen Emery Band, Venn Sung, Dirty Soap Band, Reggae Thunder, Last Generation on Film and Swing That Cat, plus DJ MostHated, DJ Eric, DJ Frosty, DJ Xtina and Rebel Foster, DJ Nate G. and Uptown Eddie. Kensington Derby and Arts Festival Brings Back Mud, Live Music, Food Trucks and Vendors

Fishtown District announces the return of the Philadelphia Federal Credit Union Kensington Derby and Arts Festival on Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 12:00pm to 6:00pm. One of Philadelphia's largest spring festivals is back after a pandemic break and ready to take over Trenton Avenue from Norris Street to Frankford Avenue. The fourteenth year for this event will feature over 100+ local vendors, artists, musicians, food and drink, performers - and a parade of homemade vehicles. Derby competitors are encouraged to wear costumes and make it to the finish line in their human-powered vehicles and floats. Over 15,000 people are expected to come out and cheer them on along the three mile obstacle course that stretches through East Kensington and Fishtown. Mud, bubbles and other obstacles along the route will be presented by some of the District's biggest names, including Johnny Brenda's, Philadelphia Brewing Co., and Kensington Community Food Co-Op. Winners will be crowned in categories that have ranged over the years like Best Art, Best Costume, Best Engineering, Best Breakdown, Media Choice and, of course, the highly coveted Judge's Choice Award. Philadelphia Theatre Company Launches Citywide Campaign to Support Sanitation Workers

Philadelphia Theatre Company is celebrating essential workers and literally talking trash throughout the run of their Co-World Premiere of Lindsay Joelle’s The Garbologists. PTC is supporting the unsung heroes of the pandemic with a free performance special for sanitation workers and their families on Thursday, November 11th at 2:30. Starting the same day, PTC will launch a citywide campaign to encourage residents to support their sanitation workers through the distribution of 10,000 #supportsantiationworkers stickers for recycling and garbage bins. These will be available through local civic associations, at special events, and at the PTC box office. The sticker used exclusive artwork from noted local artist Alloyius Mcilwaine, who is also creating and debuting five original art pieces using Philadelphia city recycling bins as a canvas. The pieces will be on display in the PTC lobby and auctioned off during the run of the show. The artwork will be available for viewing in the front windows of the Suzanne Roberts Theatre lobby starting on opening night.
