Get Frozen In Northern Liberties As Figo Debuts A New Igloo Dining Experience

Glu Hospitality invites you to get frozen in Northern Liberties with the debut of the city's newest and most lavish Igloo experience, plus the return of Princess Brunches at the Igloos, and a brand-new heated cocktail garden. Starting this week, partners Derek Gibbons and Tim Lu bring a new holiday and winter experience to Northern Liberties Restaurant Row with the debut of enchanting and weather-proof sparkling Igloos at Figo Ristorante (1033 N. 2nd Street). The Igloos at Figo are neary 12 feet wide, seat up to eight people, and feature over a hundred clear sustainable panels, a table-top fire pit, festive decor, and a view of the night stars and the new Northern Liberties Christmas Tree. Along with the Igloos, Glu brings back Enchanted in Northern Liberties: Princess Brunches at the Igloos at Figo in partnership and a pivot with A Dash of Magic Events, running every Saturday and Sunday through New Year's Eve. Families can "Igloo-distance" themselves from other families and the Princess, as she goes Igloo to Igloo, and table to table, and interacts and delights young children. Appearances confirmed so far include Cinderella, Beauty Queen (inspired by Belle), Snow Queen (inspired by Frozen/ Elsa) and more! Figo and Glu also announce a brand-new outdoor winterized Holiday Cocktail Garden with heated, covered indoor-outdoor seating for up to 50 guests, which is great for private parties as well as nightly dining.

Leave the cooking to Aversa PR's client restaurants for this Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving dinner is less than a month away, and our clients are cooking up a feast to keep you out of the kitchen and giving you more time to spend with family. This is one of the single largest days and weeks for some of our clients - and holiday meals and meal kits have been a huge saviour during these pandemic times for some of the restaurants. For our early list for Thanksgiving please find menus below for Garces Trading Company, Chez Colet at Sofitel Philadelphia at Rittenhouse Square, Bridget Foy's, Positano Coast, El Camino Real, Hudson Table, Sophie's BBQ, Fork, Panorama. In its second year, this event will highlight the great outdoor dining spots in the neighborhood, showcase the best brunch restaurants in the city - and crown the neighborhood's winner for Best Bloody Mary! Will anyone unseat 2020 winner Jerry’s Bar? This year’s event is presented with support from sponsors and supporters Stateside Vodka and Devilfish Ink. Northern Liberties Business Improvement District announces the launch of its inaugural Fitness & Wellness Fair on Sunday, September 26, 2021. This free event will see the closure of the 700 block of N 2nd St from Noon to 5:00pm for an open-air fair that focuses on the many yoga, fitness, skincare, and self-care businesses in Northern Liberties. Attendees can expect free classes, demonstrations, and meet-and-greets to learn more about area business offerings. All are welcome to attend this free event on the 700 block of N 2nd St in Northern Liberties (between Fairmoint and Brown).

Northern Liberties Kicks Off The Planning Process For A New Streetscape Vision Plan

Northern Liberties Business Improvement District (NLBID) announces the development of the Northern Liberties Streetscape Vision Plan. The young business district enters its third full year of operation preparing for a major growth in residential and commercial business. The population in the popular Philadelphia neighborhood is expected to nearly double in two short years, with 4,600 new residential units and 184,655 square feet of commercial on deck or under construction. NLBID has selected award-winning architecture firm KieranTimberlake, whose own office is located in the heart of Northern Liberties, to partner with Philadelphia-based PORT Urbanism to re-envision the 2nd Street commercial corridor and set a path for the next ten years of growth. The public-realm focused plan will consider pedestrian, bike, and vehicular circulation, as well as furnishing, greening, lighting, signage, and other considerations including potential new spaces of community collection. Funding for the planning process is supported by a grant from the Penn Treaty Special Services District.

Northern Liberties Debuts New Mural Hunt Starting Memorial Day Weekend

Northern Liberties Business Improvement District announces the debut of a brand-new, self-guided Philadelphia Mural Art Crawl just in time for summer. Northern Liberties Mural Hunt: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Street Art will debut on Friday, May 28th and run through Monday, July 5th. Participants in the scavenger hunt can participate by downloading the free Let’s Roam app from Google Play or the Apple store, then locate the mural hunt on the app’s regional map. Once activated, participants can go at their own pace to find 20+ pieces of street art and murals, while learning about the art pieces' history and significance. Participants are then asked to complete fun challenges and enter to win weekly prizes. One lucky winner on July 5th will win the drawing for the grand prize, a bowling party for four at North Bowl. This special new incubator program comes at a very important time as the pandemic enters a new phase and businesses not only look to reopen, but to expand and capitalize on their pandemic pivots. The twelve-week courses will focus on creating a sound business strategy for opening a retail store in the current economic environment and is intended to help the businesses build confidence about their decision to move into a commercial space.

Sisterly Love Food Fair Heads to Northern Libs, Ardmore, and Cherry Street Pier

The Sisterly Love Food Fair celebrates Women's History Month with special food fair pop-ups heading to all corners of the region. For four weekends in a row, look for the top local female chefs, restaurateurs and entrepreneurs supporting each other during the pandemic at this one-day outdoor, socially distanced food markets. On Saturday, March 6th, Sisterly Love will head to the Main Line and Philadelphia Suburbs for the very first time. Hosted by Ardmore Initiative and Restaurant Marokko, Sisterly Love will pop-up in Schauffele Plaza in Downtown Ardmore from 12 Noon to 2:00pm with dozens of regional and local vendors, plus entertainment provided by Ardmore Music Hall.
