The Second Chance Foundation, along with sponsor SugarHouse Casino, will present the first Ya Gotta Try This Tasting Party, on Thursday, October 2, 2014, at Independence Visitor Center (6th and Market), starting at 6:30pm. Fox 29’s Mike Jerrick and District Attorney R. Seth Williams will host an evening filled with must-try dishes and drinks from 24 local bars, restaurants and eateries, including Noord, Palladino’s, Rouge, Cuba Libre Restaurant Rum Bar, Geechee Girl Rice Cafe, Verdad, Kitchen Consigliere Cafe, Circles and others. Bru Craft and Wurst, U-Bahn and Yards Brewing Company will sample free beer. Southern Wine & Spirits will sponsor the complimentary open bar. City of Hope Celebrates 10th Anniversary of Let Them Eat Cake Wedding Cake Competition

City of Hope Philadelphia celebrates ten years of fondant fun with Let Them Eat Cake: Fantasy Weddings on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 6:00pm at the DoubleTree Hilton (237 Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA). East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District (EPABID) and Passyunk Avenue Revitalization Corporation (PARC) kick off the holiday’s with the annual Tree Lighting Party at the Singing Fountain (Tasker and EPA) on Thursday, December 5, 2013, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The free celebration will include carolers from Alphabet Academy, music by students from Andrew Jackson School, a visit from Santa Claus, holiday cupcakes for sale from Ms Goody Cupcake truck. Free food and drink samples will be provided by Belle Cakery, Black n Brew, Noord, Stateside and other restaurants to be announced. At 7:00pm, revelers are invited to the first Deck the Ave kick-off with free candy canes and treats at the shops, extended shopping hours, specials and sales, giveaways and other festive surprises. East Passyunk Avenue presents spooktacular fun with Fall Fest and Spooky Saturday on Saturday, October 26, 2013, from 11:00am to 4:00pm. This annual Halloween celebration will feature free activities for children, adults and even fido too!  Spooky Saturday activities include cider and donuts, pumpkin painting, costume contests for children and dogs, pet treats, art lessons and a kids’ dance party. Trick or treating will expand this year to include the blocks between the Singing Fountain and the Mifflin Triangle. Free treat bags will be available at the Singing Fountain for the first 500 children courtesy of Aversa PR & Events.
