East Passyunk Avenue Rings in Holidays with Tree Lighting Party, Deck the Ave Campaign, Photos with Santa and More

East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District (EPABID) and Passyunk Avenue Revitalization Corporation (PARC) kick off the holidays with the annual Tree Lighting Party at the Singing Fountain (Tasker Street and East Passyunk Avenue) on Thursday, December 4, 2014, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The free celebration will include live music, carolers, holiday sweets, shopping and other surprises. Don’t forget to bring an unwrapped gift for a toy drive to benefit local youth. After the party, stay until 9:00pm for extended shopping hours as the Deck the Ave campaign kicks off with shopping, sales and other festivities during December. Chhaya Cafe Will Move to Larger Space on Popular East Passyunk Avenue Restaurant Row

East Passyunk's popular brunch spot and coffee shop Chhaya Café announces that it will moveto a new larger space at 1817 East Passyunk Avenue in late spring/early summer. The current location at 1823 East Passyunk seats 28 in the dining room, with 1,500 total square feet (approximately 800 for dining). The new space will replace Sweet Alyssa, and feature 1,800 total square feet (with approximately 1,100 for dining). Chhaya's seating will expand from 28 to 55 seats in total. (Note: Sweet Alyssa is relocating across the street, FYI.)

East Passyunk Rocks Around the Christmas Tree with Tree Lighting Party at the Singing Fountain

East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District (EPABID) and Passyunk Avenue Revitalization Corporation (PARC) kick off the holiday’s with the annual Tree Lighting Party at the Singing Fountain (Tasker and EPA) on Thursday, December 5, 2013, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The free celebration will include carolers from Alphabet Academy, music by students from Andrew Jackson School, a visit from Santa Claus, holiday cupcakes for sale from Ms Goody Cupcake truck. Free food and drink samples will be provided by Belle Cakery, Black n Brew, Noord, Stateside and other restaurants to be announced. At 7:00pm, revelers are invited to the first Deck the Ave kick-off with free candy canes and treats at the shops, extended shopping hours, specials and sales, giveaways and other festive surprises. The Joe King Trio will stroll down the Avenue, leading shoppers to seasonal fun. Select restaurants and bars will offer dinner and drink specials, including Noord’s Chef Joncarl Lachman preparing Kabritu Stoba (whole braised goat).
