Taproom On 19th Hosts The Year Anniversary Block Party

Taproom on 19th (2400 S. 19th, Philadelphia) celebrates its third anniversary with a full day celebration that features brews, paella and live music. This Saturday, November 12, 2016, from 1:00pm to 10:00pm, owners Michael Strauss and Pete Fry will host the “Three Year Anniversary Block Party” featuring Fresh Grill Catering and Paella, performances by the Gin Canaries, tap-takeover with Bella Vista Beer Distributor, a special beer from Forest & Main Brewing Company, and a preview from their new neighbor Kay Kay's Cakes. Les Dames D’escoffier To Honor Culinary Pioneer Esther McManus At Harvest Dinner

Les Dames d’Escoffier will honor Philadelphia culinary pioneer Chef Esther McManus on Sunday, September 25th at Outstanding in Her Field, a new annual event to recognize talented women making a difference in the region’s culinary field. The locally sourced harvest farm dinner will be set amidst the vines of Inn of Grace Winery (50 Sweetwater Road, Glen Mills) and paired with its fine wines and will celebrate McManus’ artistry and legacy. McManus is a quiet and behind-the-scenes rockstar in the culinary world - she taught Julia Child how to make the perfect croissant, is considered by many to be the mother of Philly’s artisan bread movement, and currently inspires legions of young cooks at the Restaurant School at Walnut Hill. South Street Spring Festival Kicks Off Philadelphia's Summer Season with Music, Food, Drinks, Family Fun, Art, Shopping and More on Saturday, May 2, 2015

South Street Spring Festival is ready to rock with the Philadelphia’s best sounds, tastes, sips, shopping and sights on Saturday, May 2, 2015, from 11:00AM to 8:00PM. This giant free, all-ages outdoor block party will close down South Street (between Front and 8th) and run along Headhouse Plaza (between South and Lombard).

More than 30 eateries, bars and food trucks will serve signature and special dishes and drinks under the blue skies. More than 40 bands will rock three stages and seven performance areas. Headhouse Plaza will be transformed into a giant lawn concert complete with grass, lawn chairs, games and beachballs. Twenty-seven artists will sell their handmade wares and crafts. Children of all ages will enjoy free family fun in the expanded Kids Zone. Over 100 boutiques, small businesses and other other retailers will cater to your style, beauty, health, fitness and other shopping needs. In conjunction with the Festival, Brauhaus Schmitz will host the second annual German Maifest on the 700 block of South Street, with German beers, dancers, music, food, flower headbands and even a Maypole. Outside of Atomic City Comics (638 South Street) look for free giveaways and character appearances during Free Comic Book Day.

On Saturday, May 3, 2014, from 11:00am to 8:00pm, enjoy a free, all-ages outdoor party that will close down South Street (between Front and 8th), and also run along the 2nd Street Plaza (between South and Lombard). Mt. Airy Restaurants Debut Brunch Sessions: Four Seasons of Prix-Fixe with Three Courses of Seasonally Inspired Fare

Mt. Airy adds a brunch twist to the classic restaurant week concept! Starting the weekend of April 5th and 6th, Mt. Airy restaurants will present seasonally inspired, three course menus during ‘Mt. Airy Brunch Sessions: Four Seasons of Prix-Fixe.’ Chefs will present off-menu dishes and signature favorites that celebrate the flavors of spring. Sample everything from frisee salad (with crispy pancetta, sliced pear, ricotta salata, mint vinaigrette) to bread pudding French toast (with strawberry-rhubarb compote) to a corned beef hash flatbread. Participating restaurants include Avenida Restaurant, Earth Bread + Brewery, Geechee Girl Rice Cafe, Goat Hollow, Jyoti Indian Bistro, Little Jimmie's Bakery Cafe and Trolley Car Diner. Noir Philadelphia Announces New Owners, Exciting Renovations, New Dishes and Expanded Service

Chef Marco DeCotiis and Donnamarie Motto have something special to raise a glass to this Valentine’s Day. The foodie couple celebrate their 14th anniversary with the announcement that they are the new sole owners of Noir Philadelphia at 1909 East Passyunk Avenue. DeCotiis and Motto also officially announce daily lunch service, service on Monday nights, renovations in the dining room and bar, and new menu items. This food coupling started over a shared passion for food – and continues as the two bring their crowd-pleasing Montreal-inspired Italian dishes to Philadelphia’s new restaurant row.
