Three years ago, on November 8, 2013, current owners Michael Strauss and Pete Fry took over ownership of Taproom on 19th and revamped the South Philadelphia staple into a top destination for local and seasonal upscale pub fare, 14 rotating taps of craft beer (including a cask engine), a classic cocktail menu, a knowledgeable staff and a warm vibe.

Since that time, Taproom has become known not only for their food and drink, but also as the South Philly hot spot for block parties and special events. For their third anniversary, Strauss and Fry are putting up a giant tent on Ritner Street and serving up a special anniversary burger worthy of the milestone. The 3rd Anniversary Taproom Burger, by Executive Chef Christopher Ritter, features herbed ricotta and arugula pesto, on a house-made pepperoni bread bun. Fresh Grill Catering and Paella will join as guests for the day and serve up their famous Spanish paella. Taps during the anniversary event will be taken over by Bella Vista Beer Distributor’s Jason A Miller and include:

Cascade Brewing - Elderberry

Alesmith - Vietnamese Coffee Speedway Stout

Prairie Artisan Ales - BOMB!

Prairie Artisan Ales - Vous Francais

Heretic Brewing - Worry

Bruery - Autumn Maple

Ballast Point - Red Velvet Cake (NITRO)

Evil Twin - Imperial Biscotti Break Raspberry Umami

Almanac - Hoppy Sour: Amarillo

1/2 Acre - Pony Pils

As a just added bonus, soon-to-be neighbor Kay Kay Cakes will debut their tasty sweet treats in advance of their winter opening across the street. The Gin Canaries will also get everyone off their feet with their lively jazz age sounds.

Free admission. All food and drink are pay as you go. Guests must be 21 or older to drink (with identification). For more information, visit www.taproomon19th.com, 267-687-7817 or follow @TaproomOn19th
