South St. Headhouse's Puyero Venezuelan Flavor Expands Menu With Sweet Corn Cachapas

Puyero Venezuelan Flavor (524 S. 4th Street) is expanding its offerings of Venezuelan street food with the addition of four varieties of cachapas officially starting this week. Cachapas join Puyero's line-up of casual eats that include arepas, patacones, tequenos, yuca, mandacas, churros and chicha.

11th Annual Greenfest Philly Returns with Rock Wall, Edible Bugs, Prius Prime Drives

Clean Air Council’s 11th Annual Greenfest Philly presented by Toyota Hybrids returns to Headhouse Square (2nd and South Streets) on Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 10:00am to 4:00pm. The tri-state region’s largest environmental festival and tastier than ever - with new cooking demonstrations with Miss Rachel’s Pantry, P’unk Burger and Revolution Taco, plus organic food vendors, free coffee from Joe Coffee, outdoor beer garden and edible bugs. Festivities will also include live music, group bike rides, free adult and kids’ yoga, hybrid vehicle test drives, handmade and green shopping, MOM’s Organic Market Kids’ Corner and a twenty-five foot rock wall. South Street Headhouse District Presents New Halloween Tradition with South Street's PumpkinFest on October 31, 2015

South Street Headhouse District (SSHD) presents a new fall festival with tricks and treats for adults and children of all ages. PumpkinFest takes over Second Street's Headhouse Plaza between Pine and South Streets, on Saturday, October 31, 2015, from 12:00pm to 5:00pm. Live music, shopping, seasonal bites and brews, football bungee challenge, straw bale maze, circus performances, horse and wagon hay rides, face painting and more. South Street businesses will open their doors for trick or treating (children 12 and under) from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. PumpkinFest is free, with food, drink and shopping pay-as-you-go. South Street Spring Fest Returns with Eight Blocks of Food, Music, Family Fun and More

South Street Spring Festival returns for a celebration of South Street Headhouse District’s best tastes, sips, sounds and sights. On Saturday, May 3, 2014, from 11:00am to 8:00pm, enjoy a free, all-ages outdoor party that will close down South Street (between Front and 8th), and also run along the 2nd Street Plaza (between South and Lombard). At least 30 restaurants and bars will serve signature and special dishes, brews and cocktails, and sweets and treats. In conjunction with the Festival, Brauhaus Schmitz will host the second annual German Maifest on the 700 block of South Street, with German beers, dancers, music, food, flower headbands and even a May pole. Other festivities will include live music from three main stages and eight other performance areas. Children of all ages will enjoy free fun in the Kids Zone. At least 40 artists, crafters, and retailers will cater to your shopping needs. South Street Spring Festival is free and open to the public.
