After months of viral buzz, Diner en Blanc will pop-up in Philadelphia on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at a location revealed only minutes before. Join 3,500 other guests dressed in white for a fairytale evening of food, fashion, dancing, music and magic. This once-in-a-lifetime event annually celebrates dinner as an artform as guests dine in a unique, unexpected and re-purposed public space.

City of Hope Philadelphia Fights Women's Cancers with 5K Walk

One in three women will be diagnosed with cancer in her lifetime. On Saturday, September 13, 2014, this reality will unite survivors and supporters during the 17th annual Women’s Cancer Walk by City of Hope Philadelphia. Look for a parade of purple and listen for the outpouring of hope as walkers travel from Campbell’s Field (401 Delaware Ave, Camden), across the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, to the Arch Street Meeting House (320 Arch St, Philadelphia). Registration starts at 8:00am, and the walk starts at 10:00am. Registration is $25 for adults and $15 for children at www.womenscancerwalk.org. Cool down at Philadelphia’s “Grande Dame” of neighborhood bars with unique Sassafras flavored ice cream, available in one of four beer float combinations, or as a treat on its own. East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District (EPABID) is revving up for the 9th Annual Car Show and Street Festival on Sunday, July 27, 2014, from Noon to 5:00pm, on EPA between Broad and Dickinson streets. Over 140 muscle, classic, antique, custom and show cars, trucks and motorcycles will line Avenue, with circus performers, street vendors, rack sales, kids’ activities, live music and the Bang! Boom! Serrano Restaurant in Old City Hosts Pop-up with Ranch Road Taco Shop

Serrano Restaurant announces that Ranch Road Taco Shop will pop-up in the kitchen starting on Wednesday, July 16, 2014. Chef Meghan Carnevale will serve her authentic Mexican street food, including Blackened Catfish Tacos, Pomegranate Guacamole and Mexican street corn with ancho lime aioli and asiago cheese. The special menu will be paired with rotating bar specials that will include sangria, signature cocktails, boutique wines and craft beers. The pop-up will run from 5:00pm to Midnight, Wednesdays through Saturdays, through at least early August.

Fifteen of Philadelphia’s premier pizza parlors will vie for attendee votes to decide the gold, silver, and bronze medals in several categories as well as the top prize of overall favorite slice. 20 Restaurants Go Grill to Grill in Dog Days of Summer Cook-Off by South Street Headhouse District

Twenty of the region’s top restaurants and food trucks will go grill-to-grill in the summer’s ultimate hot-dog competition. South Street Headhouse District, in conjunction with Hot Diggity!, will host the 3rd Annual Dog Days of Summer Cook-Off on Saturday, July 19, 2014, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, under the historic Headhouse Square Shambles (400 Block of South 2nd Street between Lombard and Pine). Sample the most flavorful, unique and inventive hot dogs while enjoying craft beer, live music, an amateur toppings contest and other summertime fun. VIP passes are $30 and include early access at Noon, a VIP gift and 20 food/drink tickets. General admission is free, with food/drink tickets costing 4/$10 and 15/$30.
