Grammy Winners Take 6 Kick-Off William Penn Bank Summer Music Fest in Bucks County

Bristol Riverside Theatre moves outside for the summer season with help from one of the biggest a cappella sensations in music history! Ten-time Grammy Award Winner Take 6 will kick-off the three month-long William Penn Bank Summer Music Fest. Bristol Riverside Theatre, with help from sponsor William Penn Bank, will present six outdoor summer shows that will be held at Bristol Township’s brand-new outdoor amphitheatre. After moving to online virtual productions, Bristol Riverside Theatre brings back the sound of music to Bucks County with Take 6 (June 11-12), Broadway Memories (June 18-20), Totally Awesome 80s (July 16-18), 70s Flashback (July 30-31), Broadway Ahead (August 13-15) and The Doo Wop Project (August 27-28). Take 6 will bring in the star power to electrify the stage for the season kick-off and BRT's return on Friday, June 11th and Saturday, June 12th.

Parks on Tap Debuts Two New Waterfront Locations on Schuylkill River This Weekend

Parks on Tap announces that Philadelphia’s famous beer garden that gives back is making moves, announcing two new season-long locations for 2021. The official season opening for both outside the famous Fairmount Water Works (640 Waterworks Drive) and at the all-new South-to-Christian Trails End (entry ramp at South Street and South 27th Street) is set for Thursday, May 6th at 4:00pm. When open, patrons will be able to enjoy sweeping riverfront views, fresh food, beers on tap, wine and non-alcoholic beverages in a secure outdoor environment with comfortable chairs and clean restrooms. Both locations will feature proven health and safety protocols created during Summer 2020, including additional cleaning measures, ability for contact tracing, and other procedures as prescribed by the City of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania.

Theatre Philadelphia Announces 4th Annual Philly Theatre Week With 11 Days, 64 Companies And 72 Events

Curtains up. Theatre Philadelphia proudly announces the return of Philly Theatre Week from April 22 to May 2, 2021. After a year of dark stages, millions in lost ticket sales and thousands of lost jobs, the Philadelphia theatre scene will rise again after the pandemic shut-downs with 11 days, 64 organizations, 72 events, and hundreds of performances. This fourth year celebration will showcase the strength, resilience, talent and diversity of the tri-state region’s theatre scene through virtual and in-person shows that will be hosted in every corner of Philadelphia, and in the Philadelphia suburbs, Delaware and South Jersey. Events will include a variety of live and pre-recorded virtual performances, panels, workshops, theatre-by-mail, audio plays and in-person outdoor events. All tickets for participating shows are specially priced to be accessible to all, with tickets being free, $15 or $30 each.

Inis Nua Theatre Returns with American Premiere of How to Be Brave Starring Alice Yorke

Inis Nua Theatre presents the American premiere of HOW TO BE BRAVE by Welsh playwright Siân Owen. Starring Alice Yorke, Philadelphia Magazine’s 2019 Best Theatre Talent in Philadelphia. HOW TO BE BRAVE is a whirlwind solo show set in Newport, Wales that is a heartwarming story of motherhood and finding joy even in the most challenging moments. The production will be directed by Barrymore Award-nominated director and Inis Nua Founder and Artistic Director Tom Reing. Wonderspaces Reopens at Fashion District with New Exhibits to Celebrate One Year Anniversary

Philadelphia's largest new cultural attraction is back! Wonderspaces Philadelphia is celebrating its reopening and one year anniversary with the debut of new installations that include Akousmaflore by Scenocosme, Thank You Bags by Reed van Brunschot, and a new VR film: Notes on Blindness: Into Darkness by Peter Middleton, James Spinney, Arnaud Colinart, and Amaury La Burthe. The new artworks join popular returning exhibits, including the glowing Submergence by Squidsoup, the sunrise and sunset of Sun by Phillip Schutte and the colorful Body Paint by Memo Akten. East Passyunk Opera Project (ePOP) teams up with Pistola’s del Sur, Sancho Pistola’s and Jose Pistola’s for Love Notes, a special three course dinner and virtual concert taking place over Valentine’s Day Weekend. The dinner and concert, presented by RE/MAX One Realty - The Capri Dessecker Team, will feature performances by Philadelphia-based opera singers Ashley Marie Robillard, soprano, and Joshua Blue, tenor. The real-life couple will perform safely from their home in South Philly. The duo will be accompanied by pianist Aurelien Eulert. In addition, several prominent opera singers will make guest appearances throughout the concert: Anthony Roth Costanzo, Sandra Piques Eddy, Joélle Harvey and her husband Alex Fletcher, Zachary James, and Will Liverman, all of whom have sung leading roles at The Metropolitan Opera and a host of other distinguished opera and concert venues throughout the world.

Philadelphia Zoo Lights Up Main Plaza With Blue Lights To Thank Healthcare Heroes

Philadelphia Zoo has lit up three of the enormous 80-foot-tall trees at the Main Plaza with dazzling blue lights to thank the frontline. The new light display on the trees and front entrance buildings at 34th and Girard are illuminated with the goal of ringing in the holidays while also thanking healthcare workers and first responders during the global pandemic. By lighting up the front plaza in blue, the Zoo is extending its wishes for a peaceful holiday and its appreciation for the thousands of citizens throughout the greater Philadelphia region for their kindness, dedication, and courage during an exceptionally challenging year.
