Jane Guo and Jackson Fu announced the grand opening of Dim Sum House by Jane G’s at 1930 Chestnut Street February 20, 2020 opening at 11:30am. The mother-son duo, who also operate Dim Sum House in University City, will bring all-day, every-day dim sum in two styles to Center City and Rittenhouse Square. The expansive restaurant and bar will feature 4,000 square feet of space, with seating for 120 inside and 20 outside. From the kitchen, guests will enjoy a menu that focuses on two authentic styles of Chinese dim sum (Shanghai and Cantonese), plus fried rice, noodles, chef specialties and familiar Chinese favorites from the Jiang Nan region of China. Notable favorites include Dim Sum House’s celebrated Pork Soup Dumplings, Dan Dan Noodles, Roast Pork Bao, Peking Duck, Pork Belly & Mustard Greens, Hot and Sour Soup, and Norwegian Whole King Crab done three ways, which currently is around $450 market price for 8 lbs.

Azuka Theatre continues to foster new works by local Philadelphia playwrights with the world premiere of Ship by Douglas Williams. Following a critically acclaimed and sold out run of Sunset Baby by Dominique Morriseau, Azuka continues their 2019-2020 season with the New Professionals Production of Ship from February 26 to March 15, 2020, presented at The Proscenium Theatre at The Drake (302 Hicks Street, Philadelphia). In Ship, audiences find Nell fresh out of rehab and returning to her hometown of Mystic, CT with two goals: track down her former classmate who tried and failed to grow the longest fingernails in the world, and be promoted to the most high profile job in town: tour guide at the Seaport. With the help and hindrance of her older sister, Nell grabs at her chance for hometown glory – but it’s not as easy as it looks.

Philadelphia Theatre Company Presents The Premiere Of Everything Is Wonderful

Philadelphia Theatre Company continues its 45th Anniversary season with a perceptive drama about forgiveness set in Amish Country in Pennsylvania. PTC is thrilled to begin the year with the Philadelphia Premiere of Chelsea Marcantel’s The Kilroys List Honorable Mention pick, Everything is Wonderful. Directed by Noah Himmelstein, who directed this play at the Everyman Theatre in Baltimore last year, this beautiful new work about a nearby community runs February 14-March 8, 2020. Glu Hospitality, owners of Vesper Center City, Vesper Dayclub and Germantown Garden, announce the grand opening of Leda and The Swan at 1224 Chestnut Street, in Philadelphia's thriving Midtown Village neighborhood. For Leda, Glu principles Derek Gibbons and Tim Lu present a new cocktail and music hideaway for the culturally curious. The 2,500 square foot new cocktail bar and lounge will feature specialty craft cocktails created by well-known cocktail veterans Ryan Fenton and Zach Kessler. Fergie Carey and Jim McNamara, owners of Fergie's Pub, announce the grand opening of The Goat at 1907 Samson Street, in Philadelphia's bustling Rittenhouse neighborhood. The former home of Oh! Shea's will debut as a brand new, crisp, clean and quirky modern day pub and restaurant with 2,400 square feet, two bars, 118 seats, two fireplaces and eye-catching details. In the kitchen, Chef Adrian Geronimo presents a menu of elevated comfort food prepared with fresh local ingredients that is both vegetarian and vegan friendly.
