A Magical Night of Mystery and Deception Debuts at the Speakeasy at Vesper Center City

Vesper Center City announces the debut of Deceptions: A Magical Night of Mystery and Deception featuring the many talents of Mervant the Deceptionist. After pivoting during the pandemic, Mervant has become a top celebrity on AirBnb where he booked over 700 virtual performances. Now, he will take his show live and in-person with help from Glu Hospitality and producers Smoke and Mirrors. This new performance experience will take place in Vesper's hidden speakeasy every Thursday and every Saturday night at 6:30pm, with doors opening at 6:00pm, starting November 18th and 20th. Audiences should come ready to be dazzled with a combination of illusion, deception and mentalism. Seating is intimate and limited to only 40 people at a time, so don’t miss your chance to experience this one-of-a-kind show, unique to downtown Philly. Cocktails and small bites are available before, during and after the performance.

Northern Liberties Presents Artists at Work Exhibition and Art Crawl

Northern Liberties Business Improvement District announces the return of Artists at Work on Saturday, November 13th, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, as part of 2nd Saturdays Northern Liberties. The final Artists at Work of 2021 is the biggest yet. Twelve businesses throughout Northern Liberties will host live artist demonstrations in their space. Creativity will flow in many forms, including live music, drawing, painting, mixed media collage and calligraphy. Art lovers and shoppers can use QR code at each location to follow a Google map showing each location and artist details. Artists at Work is free and open to the public. Scandal, Murder and Roaring 20s Return to Greystone Hall in West Chester

Greystone Hall and the Colonial Playhouse of Delaware County present the 2021 production of The Manor, a two-act play by Kathrine Bates, directed by Sam Barrett. Inspired by a true story from the 1920'’s, the play was designed to be performed in the Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills where those events took place. The play was later adapted by the playwright for Greystone Hall right here in Chester County, where the mansion itself is again the stage and the star! The story itself centers around money, marriage, politics and power. The audience follows the unfolding story as it moves through the grand stately rooms and intimate spaces of the famous 114 year old mansion. The play returns by popular demand for its fourth time at Greystone Hall, after a break last year during the height of the pandemic. Opening night will be Thursday, November 11th, with playwright Kathrine Bates set to be in attendance. The play will run though Thanksgiving Weekend for holiday audiences, with a total of ten performances ending on November 28th. Tickets are on sale now for $60 each, which includes the show and experience, plus complimentary sweet and savory refreshments at intermission.

Steven Singer Jewelers Launches Helping Paw Charity Necklace to Benefit PAWS

Steven Singer Jewelers has teamed up with Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) to support their work in finding Philadelphia homeless pets their forever homes. The man everyone loves to hate is doing good again this holiday season by pledging to donate twenty-percent of all sales of the exclusive Helping Paw necklace to PAWS for their life-saving efforts. Singer donated $10,000 this week from early sales with a pledge to keep raising money for PAWS until December 31, 2021. Continuing to raise money for PAWS until the end of the year - and through the busy shopping season - was something that is near and dear to Singer's heart. Singer is an animal lover and adopted Buddy, his own four-legged friend, from a rescue shelter. Singer also recognized that during the pandemic dogs and furry friends helped many people through the darkest times of the last year. Starting today, Chickie's and Pete's will debut The B Dawk Impact Burger, a Primal Supply grass-fed burger with jerk spices, provolone, Caribbean spiced pineapple sauce, jalapeño chimichurri, topped with a fried egg and arugula. PTC is thrilled to kick-off its 2021-2022 season with the Co-World Premiere of Lindsay Joelle’s The Garbologists, from November 11 to December 5, 2021, with opening night on Wednesday, November 17th. This timely and relevant Co-World Premiere with Pittsburgh’s City Theatre, features a white, conservative, proud union member and a Black, liberal, ivy-educated newbie who just joined the sanitation route. When they find something on the curb too valuable to throw away, they’re forced to re-evaluate each other and accept each other on their own terms. Directed by Brooklyn-based Estefanía Fadul, The Garbologists stars Bensalem native Ngozi Anyanwu, making their Philadelphia region debut, joined by Philadelphia favorite Steven Rishard.

Bristol Riverside Theatre’s (120 Radcliffe Street) 35th Anniversary Season continues with Bucks County premiere of TONY Nominee (Ain’t Too Proud) Dominique Morriseau’s timely play about four Detroit auto workers, Skeleton Crew. This OBIE Award recipient and multiple Audelco Award winner in its 2016 premiere at Atlantic Theatre Company in New York is the third play in her Detroit Project (A three play cycle that includes Paradise Blue and Detroit ‘67). The BRT production is directed by Cameron Knight, the new head of the BFA Acting Program at Rutgers University and features an ensemble of actors making their BRT debuts.

Wonderspaces Philadelphia Expands with New Installations and Debuts Bar and Cocktail Program

Wonderspaces Philadelphia heads into fall and the holiday season at Fashion District Philadelphia by adding two new extraordinary installations to its show of interactive and experiential artwork. The current collection of global art will now include the most ever pieces, sixteen in total, with the addition of On a Human Scale by Matthew Matthew, Before I Die by Candy Chang and returning favorite Dinner Party by Charlotte Stoudt, Laura Wexler, Angel Soto, Skybound, Ryot & Telexist. On a Human Scale is a project which unites voices and faces of the world through technology. The project started as an experiment, by filming everyday New Yorkers singing. The individual voices are woven into an interactive instrument which visitors are invited to play, bringing the immersive audio-visual installation to life. Before I Die is a global participatory public art project that reimagines our relationship with death and with one another in the public realm. Originally created by artist Candy Chang in New Orleans after the death of a loved one, the artwork invites people to reflect and share their personal aspirations in public.
