Aversa PR & Events seeks an ultra organized, creative and driven multi-tasker to assist with 20+ client accounts that cover retail, fashion, beauty, food, neighborhoods, tourism and much more. We work with small business owners, entrepreneurs and nonprofit leaders that expect the best from us - including smart and creative results, on a budget, in a timely manner, with measurable results. We're seeking a proven professional with some or all off the following skills: 

  • Event administrative experience, day of event staffing and coordination (25% of position)
  • Social media account management and strategy (25% of position)
  • Public relations research, writing, pitching (25% of position)
  • Office assistance, intern management, photo shoots, meetings and planning (25% of position)

Successful candidates will exhibit attention to detail, be excellent communicators, work well under pressure, have a sense of humor, be a team player, pitch in for overall agency activities and be able to generate award-winning messaging on the fly.

Aversa PR & Events seeks an ultra organized, creative and driven multi-tasker to assist with coordination of a large event planning project. Work begins in February and continues through the end of April. Duties will include attending meetings, intake for volunteers, volunteer coordination, simple design of flyers, creation of day-of-event documents, planning event logistics, returning inquiries, outreach to nonprofit partners, distribution of flyers, management of interns, agency team projects, other administrative duties.

Successful candidates will exhibit attention to detail, be excellent communicators, have amazing follow-up, be self-directed, work well under pressure, have a sense of humor and have the ability to closely follow directions. 

This is a new temporary position that could turn into additional hours or could result in additional projects on a case-by-case basis. Dependable transportation at all times is a must. Office-based position in South Philadelphia and Center City. Approximately 10-15 hours per week, until final two weeks before the event. At that time, position jumps to 20-25 hours.

Brat Productions Presents 3 Nights, 3 Stories, 3 Bands During Three Chord Fiction at Tin Angel

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Philadelphia’s favorite rock and roll theatre company BRAT Productions presents a cabaret of tiny tales of love.  Three Chord Fiction: Love Bites pairs teams of actors with musicians in a rock-theatre cabaret designed to introduce audiences to the next generation of cabaret performers and rock musicians.  Each team has one directive: to tell a musical tale of L-O-V-E.  Following the cabaret, BRAT welcomes a different guest band for an intimate set each night of the series. Performers will include Red 40, Cleo Phatra, Senor Papos and Jota, Len and the Ladies of the Cursed Church Theater. Rock and roll bands include The Fancy Balloons (February 4), TJ Kong (February 5) and Upholserty (February 6). Three Chord Fiction: Love Bites runs Tuesday, February 4, 2014 to Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Tin Angel, 20 South 2nd Street.  Performances begin at 8:00pm.  Tickets are ten dollars at www.bratproductions.org. The show is open to ages 21 and up.  (More after the jump.)

Philadelphia FIGHT, in partnership with the Wistar Institute, an international leader in biomedical research, will participate in the largest randomized trial anywhere focused on testing an easily accessible strategy to advance an HIV cure. The project is made possible by a four-year, $6.2 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to lead a clinical trial that seeks to "drain the viral reservoir" of the HIV-1 virus in patients with HIV/AIDS.

Dozens of local high school students start the new year with a lesson in giving back to the community by cutting out cancer.  On Saturday, January 25, 2014, cosmetology students at Bucks County Technical High School (BCTHS) at 610 Wistar Road, Fairless Hills Pa 19030 will donate their time at the school’s third “HopeCuts” event from 9:00am to 2:00pm. During the HopeCuts, students will provide services for only five and six dollars, including haircuts, manicures, facials and conditioning/styling.  One hundred percent of all money raised, including special product sales, will be donated to City of Hope to help cut out cancer, HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses. Start the party early, from 5-7pm, with the Tree Lighting Party + Deck the Halls Kick-Off at the Singing Fountain on East Passyunk Avenue (at EPA + Tasker Streets).
