Nick's Roast Beef in Old City to Change Name, Menu and Dining Room, Adds BBQ Menu

An Old City staple is sending their name up in flames. As of March 31, 2016, Nick’s Roast Beef at 16 S. 2nd Street will be known as Nick’s Bar and Grille. The new name will debut to coincide with the addition of a new barbecue menu using house-smoked meats. New cocktails and spirits will be added to the drink menu, and customers can look for drink tastings with local purveyors. Along with the new name and menu, customers can enjoy changes in the dining room with new custom-built tables, a group table, new high-tops, renovations to the walls and ceilings, and new decor.

International House Philadelphia Celebrates the Colors of Brazil During 53rd Global Gala, Art Show and Brazilian BBQ

International House Philadelphia celebrates the exciting flavors, vibrant colors and rhythmic sounds of Brazil during the 53rd Global Gala: Colors of Brazil, on Saturday, May 17th, at 37th and Chestnut. In conjunction with the Gala, “From Rio to Brotherly Love” art exhibition open now through June. After the Gala, IHP hosts an outdoor Brazilian Barbeque with live music and a Capoeira Show on Saturday, June 14th. All three events are designed to celebrate a country on the rise with close ties to the Philadelphia region, while raising funds for a special housing scholarship for a resident advisor from Brazil. Chhaya Cafe Introduces New Winter Menu Items

Chhaya Café, 1823 East Passyunk Avenue, warms up during dipping temperatures with the return of richer, heavier and heartier brunch flavors. Chef and owner V Beuria serves up a winter menu with sweet and savory selections that embody the concept of comfort food. On the beverage side, Chhaya is warming up this winter with Mulled Apple Cider, Café Miel, Belgium Hot Chocolate and White Chocolate Mocha.
