Parks on Tap Debuts Two New Waterfront Locations on Schuylkill River This Weekend

Parks on Tap announces that Philadelphia’s famous beer garden that gives back is making moves, announcing two new season-long locations for 2021. The official season opening for both outside the famous Fairmount Water Works (640 Waterworks Drive) and at the all-new South-to-Christian Trails End (entry ramp at South Street and South 27th Street) is set for Thursday, May 6th at 4:00pm. When open, patrons will be able to enjoy sweeping riverfront views, fresh food, beers on tap, wine and non-alcoholic beverages in a secure outdoor environment with comfortable chairs and clean restrooms. Both locations will feature proven health and safety protocols created during Summer 2020, including additional cleaning measures, ability for contact tracing, and other procedures as prescribed by the City of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania.

Northern Liberties Business Improvement District, one of the hottest and most notable food neighborhoods in Philadelphia, launches its first-ever Northern Liberties Restaurant Week from Friday, April 9 to Sunday, April 18, 2021. Curtains up. Theatre Philadelphia proudly announces the return of Philly Theatre Week from April 22 to May 2, 2021. After a year of dark stages, millions in lost ticket sales and thousands of lost jobs, the Philadelphia theatre scene will rise again after the pandemic shut-downs with 11 days, 64 organizations, 72 events, and hundreds of performances. This fourth year celebration will showcase the strength, resilience, talent and diversity of the tri-state region’s theatre scene through virtual and in-person shows that will be hosted in every corner of Philadelphia, and in the Philadelphia suburbs, Delaware and South Jersey. Events will include a variety of live and pre-recorded virtual performances, panels, workshops, theatre-by-mail, audio plays and in-person outdoor events. All tickets for participating shows are specially priced to be accessible to all, with tickets being free, $15 or $30 each.

Inis Nua Theatre presents the American premiere of HOW TO BE BRAVE by Welsh playwright Siân Owen. Starring Alice Yorke, Philadelphia Magazine’s 2019 Best Theatre Talent in Philadelphia. This special new incubator program comes at a very important time as the pandemic enters a new phase and businesses not only look to reopen, but to expand and capitalize on their pandemic pivots. The twelve-week courses will focus on creating a sound business strategy for opening a retail store in the current economic environment and is intended to help the businesses build confidence about their decision to move into a commercial space.

The Sisterly Love Food Fair celebrates Women's History Month with special food fair pop-ups heading to all corners of the region. For four weekends in a row, look for the top local female chefs, restaurateurs and entrepreneurs supporting each other during the pandemic at this one-day outdoor, socially distanced food markets. On Saturday, March 6th, Sisterly Love will head to the Main Line and Philadelphia Suburbs for the very first time. Hosted by Ardmore Initiative and Restaurant Marokko, Sisterly Love will pop-up in Schauffele Plaza in Downtown Ardmore from 12 Noon to 2:00pm with dozens of regional and local vendors, plus entertainment provided by Ardmore Music Hall.

Northern Liberties Business Improvement District kicks off the holiday season with the debut of Northern Liberties Holiday Pop-up, starting on Black Friday for two weekends, November 27th-29th and December 3rd-6th, from 1:00pm to 6:00pm. This brand-new socially-distanced holiday shopping event will feature 15+ small local businesses and makers from around the Philadelphia region popping up with gifts, decor, fashions, treats and more in eight retail locations along N. 2nd Street. From French Toast Bites, to Christmas trees and ornaments, bridal wear to baguettes, there will be something for everyone on Santa’s holiday shopping list. For extra pop-up magic, A Dash of Magic Events will pop-up both Saturdays for Enchanted in Northern Liberties: Snow Queen Brunch at the Igloos at Germantown Garden Grill with music, song, food, drink and holiday magic for kids of all ages.
