East Passyunk Scares Up Halloween Fun During Fall Fest and Spooky Saturday

East Passyunk Avenue presents spooktacular fun with Fall Fest and Spooky Saturday on Saturday, October 26, 2013, from 11:00am to 4:00pm. This annual Halloween celebration will feature free activities for children, adults and even fido too!  Spooky Saturday activities include cider and donuts, pumpkin painting, costume contests for children and dogs, pet treats, art lessons and a kids’ dance party. Trick or treating will expand this year to include the blocks between the Singing Fountain and the Mifflin Triangle. Free treat bags will be available at the Singing Fountain for the first 500 children courtesy of Aversa PR & Events. Fall Fest activities will include a craft show curated by Nice Things..Handmade, three live bands, pumpkins and fall foliage at Urban Jungle, a raffle from Philadelphia Scooters, and adoptables from Operation Ava, PAWS and Pig Placement Network.  Food and drink will be provided by Ms. Goody Cupcake, The Tot Cart, Stateside, El Zarape, Mamma Maria Ristorante, Stogie Joe’s, Noord, Fond and Belle Cakery. East Passyunk's LGBT Monthly Party QOTA Pops Up at Singing Fountain

East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District (EPABID) brings the popular monthly LGBT QOTA party to the Singing Fountain on Sunday, September 29, 2013, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.  For September, the party moves outdoors for its first-ever pop-up event in Philadelphia’s new gayborhood.  Chefs from restaurants around the Fountain will serve complimentary or discounted food and drink. Participating fooderies include locally and nationally recognized names such as Noord, Fond, Stateside, Belle Cakery, Izumi, Da Vinci Ristorante and Chiarella’s Ristorante. Metro Men’s will showcase their brand new store at East Passyunk and Tasker with complimentary beverages.  Metro Men’s and Nicole Rae Styer will host a fashion show around the Singing Fountain at 4:00 PM. Streets immediately surrounding the Fountain will be closed for the outdoor party, including Passyunk at 11th and Tasker. The party is free and open to the community, ages 21 and older. All specials are first come, first served.  Ten percent  of proceeds from Fond and Stateside will be donated to ActionAIDS.  In case of inclement weather, the party moves indoors to individual restaurants, bars and retail shops.

Fly School Circus Arts Opens Philadelphia's First Flying Trapeze School

Fly School Circus Arts announces the opening of Philadelphia's first permanent outdoor flying trapeze school at 5th and Cecil B Moore, on the edge of Old and New Kensington. Two hour lessons for adults and children (ages six and up) will be available on weekdays and weekends, up to three times per day, now through early November. Fly School celebrates its first fall season in the city with "Fall Flying Fest" promotions, events and theme weekends. The high flying fun starts on grand opening weekend, October 4-6, 2013, with $5 off lessons, complimentary refreshments and an open house "beef and beer" on Saturday, October 5, from 3-5pm. Mt. Airy Announces List of 45 Food Trucks and Restaurants for Street Fare

Street Fare: Sip, Savor, Stroll (formerly Mt. Airy Night Market) will dish up tasty bites and unique beverages from 45 food trucks, carts and local restaurants on Thursday, September 19, 2013, from 6:00pm to 10:30pm. (Rain date is Thursday, September 26, 2013.)  Additionally, Mt. Airy USA announces a special outdoor simulcast of the Eagles vs. Kansas City Chiefs, Andy Reid’s homecoming game at which Donovan McNabb’s number will be retired. Other festivities to be stationed along Germantown Avenue, between Sedgwick and W. Mt. Airy Avenue, will include two stages of live entertainment, an artisan craft fair, a fashion truck and a new family activity zone. This annual street food festival, organized by Mt.
