Nick's Roast Beef Debuts New Bacon Burger with Bespoke Bacon
/Nick’s Roast Beef in Old City (16 South 2nd Street) is already famous for their “best of” roast beef and pork sandwiches, laid back vibe and unbeatable values. Nick’s owner Joseph Schultice, aka Joey Dog, has his sights set on a new prize – king of the burger. Schultice has partnered with local bacon purveyor Bespoke Bacon to reinvent the concept of the hamburger using a special ground bacon and beef blend. Nick’s Bacon Burger debuts during Old City “Bacon and Beer Fest” on Saturday, September 28, 2013, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The pay-as-you-go offerings will include the new Nick’s Bacon Burger, Bacon Nachos with pan-fried bacon crumble, Beer and Bacon Flights, Tomato and Crimini Mushroom Salad with Pancetta Tesa, and a savory ending with Bacon Cheesecake. Yards Brewing Company, Prism Brewing Company and Philadelphia Brewing Company will pair four seasonal with the bacon-centric menu. NICK’S BACON BURGER
Nick’s Roast Beef in Old City launches a newly famous ground bacon burger that features a house-blend of 35% ground Bespoke bacon with 65% ground beef, served on a brioche roll, with lettuce and tomato on top, with pickle chips on the side. Schultice recommends toppings worthy of his new burger, including highlighted combinations:
· Southwestern Twist - Fried pickles, house-made salsa and jalapeño slices
· More Bacon the Better – Choice of sizzling Bespoke flavored bacon strips
· South Philly – Sharp provolone, long hots and caramelized onions
This new creation previewed to bar regulars during the Eagles vs. Chiefs game, and was called “A Burger Fit for the Return of Andy Reid” by the Philadelphia Business Journal. After Bacon and Beer Fest, Nick’s Bacon Burger will be a daily special until at least the end of December, if not beyond. Slider-sized bacon burgers are also available upon special request for holiday and business parties in the dining room, and for to-go catering orders.
