Philly Aids Thrift Hosts 15th Anniversary Drive-in Movie Night At Navy Yard

Philly AIDS Thrift in collaboration with Philadelphia Film Society presents a special Halloween-themed, family-friendly, socially distanced night at the movies! Philly AIDS Thrift 15th Anniversary Drive-In Movie Night featuring Tim Burton's Beetlejuice will take place at Philadelphia Navy Yard on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, with doors opening at 6:00pm and showtime at 7:00pm. The Halloween classic is the perfect choice for the non-profit organization that has become known as one of the largest retail stores for costumes, accessories and decoration during spooky season each and every year. In addition to the Drive-In Movie Night, Philly AIDS Thrift will host their biggest sale of the year from Thursday, October 8th to Sunday, October 11th. Look for a different sale running each day, plus complimentary cake while supplies last each day.

Nightmare Before Tinsel Pops Up With Socially Distanced Halloween Restaurant

Ghosts and ghouls, witching hour approaches. Teddy Sourias and Craft Concepts Group - the creators of Philadelphia's Christmas Pop-up Bar - announces the grand opening of Nightmare Before Tinsel. This year, during the global pandemic, the former spooky season pop-up bar will return as a socially distanced haunted restaurant with food, drink and art. Nightmare Before Tinsel will creak open its doors this Friday, October 2, 2020, at 4:00pm. Weekly hours are Monday through Friday, from 4:00pm to 11:00pm, and Saturday and Sunday, from 2:00pm to 11:00pm. Full table service for parties of four to six will be available for outdoor seating in a brand new and expansive haunted parklette and streetery. NIghtmare will also serve legal cocktails-to-go and food outside the front window. All guests must wear a mask when not seated. All tables are socially distanced at least six feet apart. Staff will follow all local, state and national health and safety recommendations including disposal menus, the use of a menu QR code, wiping down of all surfaces, wearing masks and other protocols in place for the safety of not just the patrons but the staff as well. Tickets are available for an introductory rate of $15 for the launch of Nightmare for the first week, and tickets after that will range from $15 to $20. Tickets include one food and one drink item. Trunc In Northern Liberties Reopens And Hosts Fundraiser For The Colored Girls Museum

Trunc, located at 929 N. 2nd Street, is back open for business and hosting a special fundraiser for The Colored Girls Museum. Philadelphia's only black-owned, veteran owned and female-owned maker spaces and retail shops is now reopened for business in the heart of one of the city's hottest neighborhoods, Northern Liberties. The store opened in 2018 and after a full year of sales in 2019, was set to have a record year in 2020 when the global pandemic shut down all retail shops in March. After months of being closed, retail shops like Trunc are back open and opening again in Northern Liberties Business Improvement District. Trunc is open to start with in-person hours Fridays to Sundays, from Noon to 5:00pm, with a ten person shopping limit, masks required, ample hand sanitizer on hand and other precautions.

Morgan's Pier Fall Fest returns for the sixth season from September 23 to November 1, 2020. Head to the expansive dining destination as it converts into an autumn wonderland - with six more weeks of stunning views, entertainment, fall food and cocktails, seasonal beers and much more. New for 2020, Morgan's Pier Fall Fest for the first time ever in its history will operate fully at seven days a week. Hours once Fall Fest begins (and new times start in Philadelphia/Pennsylvania) will be from Monday to Sunday, from 12pm Noon to last seating at 9:30pm. Philadelphia Zoo (3400 West Girard Avenue) announces the return of Boo at the Zoo Presented by Chase. This top annual Halloween extravaganza will return to America's first Zoo for three enchanting weekends, on October 16 to 18, October 23 to 25, and October 30 to November 1, 2020, from 10:00am to 4:00pm each day. Get ready for some tricks and some treats - and tons of fall fun - during everyone's favorite October tradition. Kids of all ages are invited to come out with their families in their favorite costumes and set out on a not-so-spooky safari.
