Bristol Riverside Theatre Offers Mental Amusements Featuring Vinny Deponto

Bristol Riverside Theatre heads into the fall with a brand new interactive magic show. The Bucks County culture staple is bringing award-winning Mentalist Vinny DePonto’s virtual show, Mental Amusements, into the audience's homes September 24-26. Two types of tickets are available for this show. There are Front Row Tickets that put audiences right into the action. Front Row Ticket holders can participate in the show and have their minds read. Front Row tickets cost $50. General Admission tickets allow audiences to watch the show and comment without being seen or heard. General Admission tickets cost $35.

Philadelphia Theatre Company Presents New Virtual Play The Days Of Re-Creation

Philadelphia Theatre Company begins its 46th season with the rolling world premiere of The Days of Re-Creation: A Virtual Play on September 30, 2020 at 7:00pm. The play cycle (a collection of short plays around the same theme) is the brainchild of Devenand Janki, Artistic Director of the company Live & In Color, which commissioned seven proliﬁc playwrights of color, including B.D. Wong (Tony award winning actor), Lauren Yee (Signature Theatre resident and writer of Cambodian Rock Band and The Big Leap), and Masi Asare (winner of the Billie Burke Ziegfeld Award), AriDy Nox, SEVAN, Nandita Shenoy, and Philadelphia playwright Erlina Ortiz, who contributed the play La Egoista. Directed by Rebecca Aparacio, the play features seven 10-minute plays relating to the seven days of creation from the Book of Genesis.

New Socially Distanced Art Exhibition Opens in Northern Liberties - Artists At Work

Northern Liberties Business Improvement District announces the debut of a new socially-distanced art exhibition and crawl titled Artists at Work. Artists at Work exhibition kicks off this weekend with interactive live demos in store fronts and windows this Saturday, September 12, 2020, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The exhibition will remain up after Saturday through September 30th. Artists at Work will showcase the many creative talents of seven local artists and makers and pair them with six maker and retail spaces in Northern Liberties along the North Second Street corridor.

Parks On Tap Traveling Beer Garden Heads To South Philadelphia to FDR Park

Parks on Tap announces that Philadelphia’s famous traveling beer garden is once again on the move - with a new location just in time for fall. Starting this Friday at 4:00pm, Parks on Tap is heading to South Philadelphia to bring a 50,000 square foot beer garden to FDR Park across from the public golf course, at 1500 Pattison Avenue. This new location will offer everything that fans of Parks on Tap have grown to expect, while serving as the perfect compliment for the abundance of activities ranging from relaxation to recreation that FDR Park offers. Patrons will be able to enjoy fresh food, beers on tap, wine and non-alcoholic beverages set in an outdoor environment with comfortable chairs and clean restrooms. FDR Park will feature the same proven health and safety protocols that have already been launched at both other sites, including additional cleaning measures, ability for contact tracing, and other procedures as prescribed by the City of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania.

Philadelphia Zoo Sets New Hours, Open Friday through Sunday Starting this Fall

Philadelphia Zoo announced today plans to open to guests and members on Friday through Sunday beginning September 7th. “We took a concentrated look at the visitation patterns of our guests and members since reopening in July and have realized that it makes the most sense to be open Friday through Sunday. This allows people to schedule their visits around upcoming work and school schedules.” says Vikram H. Dewan, Philadelphia Zoo’s President & CEO. “Typically, during this time of the year, we welcome school groups on weekdays, and that’s just not going to be possible this year,” says Dewan.

Ardmore Initiative announces the debut of the Main Line's newest plant-based eatery and cafe. Blue Pearl Cafe presented by owner FJ Leto and his company Juice Dr. will grand open this Saturday, August 22nd at 9:00am at 44 Rittenhouse Place. Blue Pearl Cafe will features a menu of plant-based vegan offerings that include breakfast and lunch dishes, coffee, and tea, organic smoothies, cold pressed juices, wellness shots, organic noodles, gluten free grain bowls, salads and more. Signature dishes include Spaghetti and Beetballs, Pad Thai, Walnut Taco Salad, Acai Bowl, Dark Blue Overnight Oats and other tasty dishes. The former eye glass store is 750 square feet inside and features three tables inside with extensive coffee bar seating along the main wall. Most indoor dining, however, is on hold and the cafe has a limited number of people inside to ensure social distancing.

Philadelphia Zoo is pleased to welcome an adorable new member to its ever-growing family: a flamingo chick, hatched on July 12—is the first of this species to hatch at the Zoo in more than 20 years! To avoid disturbing the new flamingo family and the rest of the flock during this sensitive stage in development, Zoo staff has not yet handled the chick so its height, weight and its sex is not yet confirmed. Anejo Grand Opens First Location Outside of New York City in Northern Liberties, Philadelphia

Añejo Restaurant Group has come together with Glu Hospitality to bring Añejo to Philadelphia. The acclaimed Mexican restaurant and tequila bar will make its official grand opening debut this Friday, July 31, 2020 at 4:00pm in Northern Liberties at the Piazza, 1001 N. 2nd Street. This new location represents the restaurant's first expansion out of the New York City marketplace, where they also have locations in Hell's Kitchen and TriBeCa.
