P’unk Burger Brings The Franklin Fountain To East Passyunk In Three New Holiday Shakes

East Passyunk’s organic burger and shake hot spot announces a new partnership with Old City District’s most famous ice cream parlour. Starting on Thursday, December 8th, P’unk Burger will carry three new holiday milkshakes made with ice cream sourced from The Franklin Fountain. Customers can celebrate the flavors of the holiday with Gingersnap Eggnog Custard, Cinnamon and non-dairy Peppermint Stick. The three shakes are only the start, as P’unk Burger will regularly source from The Franklin Fountain going forward, and even debut a custom, exclusive East Passyunk-inspired new ice cream and milkshake by late spring. All milkshakes with The Franklin Fountain ice cream are $8.00 each. The three seasonal flavors are also available at P'unk Burger by the scoop as well as for floats with Maine Root natural soda on the fountain.

Taproom on 19th Hosts 3rd Annual Chili Challenge with 20 Chefs Competing

Taproom on 19th (2400 S. 19th, Philadelphia) heats things up this winter with the return of their 3rd Annual Chili Challenge on Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Twenty local chefs and cooks will participate in an epic South Philadelphia chili throwdown. Admission is free for competitors and guests. Samples are free. Executive Chef Vince Joseph and owner Courtney Dow celebrate the first anniversary of Fine Palate (231 S. 15th Street) with some exciting changes, both in and out of the kitchen. Starting this week, look for a new lounge on the first floor, new weekday lunch service and new fall menu changes on the dinner menu. The duo, known for the first pop-up rooftop sensation Le Bok Fin, opened the global-oriented restaurant and bar in fall of 2015. Slice Hosts Grand Opening Of New Fishtown Location With Free Pizza Giveaway

South Street Scares Up Family Fun During Pumpkinfest, Trick-Or-Treating And Halloween Movies Under The Shambles

South Street Headhouse District has plenty of tricks and treats for children and adults of all ages during the neighborhood’s annual Halloween festivities. On Saturday, October 29, 2016, from Noon extending into the evening, PumpkinFest returns to Headhouse Square (2nd and Lombard). From 12:00pm to 5:00pm, enjoy circus performances, magicians, horse and wagon hay rides, live music, shopping, seasonal bites, straw bale maze, pumpkin decorating, make and take crafts, face painting and new costume contests. Businesses will open their doors for trick or treaters (12 and under) from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. After hours, starting at 6:00pm, the little ghosts and goblins are invited for some fright night family fun with Halloween Movies under the Shambles with a showing of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” and “Beetlejuice.” The frightfully fun day concludes with a special grown-up interactive late night showing of the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" starting at 9pm hosted by DJ Robert Drake.
