Harper's Garden And Morgan's Pier Opens Reservations In Anticipation Of Outdoor Dining

Two of Philadelphia's most celebrated outdoor restaurants will be the first in the region to take reservations for outdoor dining. In anticipation of news allowing outdoor dining in Philadelphia from the state of Pennsylvania, FCM Hospitality announces that Harper's Garden and Morgan's Pier will return this summer and open for seating on Friday, June 5th. Both restaurants have opened up reservations for that day and beyond, which coincides with when Philadelphia county will enter the yellow phase of the state's reopening plans. Harper's Garden will also update the layout and nearly double in size for outdoor seating in preparation for social distancing protocols that will be put into place. Morgan's Pier will also increase the footprint of outdoor dining and add side-walk seating on Columbus Boulevard.

As they wait for Governor Tom Wolf to sign the legislation, the following ten restaurants in the city of Philadelphia and out on the Main Line announce their first menus for to-go cocktail service that will start the minute his pen hits the paper and it is legal.

Restaurateur Calls on State of PA to Save Restaurants Through Outdoor Dining

With the stay at home order just extended to June 4th for Philadelphia and neighboring suburban counties, one local hospitality group and restaurateur is leading the charge to encourage state and city officials to explore new options to save the restaurant industry. Avram Hornik of FCM Hospitality, owners of Morgan’s Pier, Harper’s Garden, Rosy’s Taco Bar, Craft Hall, Rosy’s Taco Bar, Concourse Dance Bar, The Dolphin (as well as lead hospitality partner on Parks on Tap and Trails on Tap), poses the question about when is the right time to permit outdoor dining and how can outdoor dining options be expanded to help save the ailing restaurant industry. While indoor dining restaurants need to use caution and balance how to maintain sufficient patron density while not losing money, outdoor dining options could be the saving grace for one of the hardest hit industries since the start of the COVID19 crisis. With golf courses (and associated hospitality amenities) and construction industries allowed to reopen, plus dozens of counties in PA entering the yellow phase, why wait for restaurants if there is a safe action plan and guidelines that could jump start the economy?

Glu Hospitality announces the virtual grand opening of Hunnies Crispy Chicken featuring a full menu of crispy chicken comfort food favorites from Chef Chino Chang. Owners Derek Gibbons and Tim Lu, of Leda and The Swan, Vesper Center City, Vesper Dayclub and Germantown Garden, present their newest food concept that officially launches this weekend on Friday, May 1, 2020. While the nightlife industry is on hold, and their two newest restaurant concepts have had their grand openings postponed, the duo decided to wait no more for their new crispy chicken concept. Hunnies Crispy Chicken will launch this week officially on Grubhub and Door Dash for delivery - as well as for contactless pick-up in Center City. The menu will feature a selection of crispy chicken sandwiches that include Hunnies Crispy, Buffalo, Crispy Caesar and Hunnies Chicken and Waffles. The menu also features Crispy Chicken salads, Crispy Tenders and Wings, Crispy Cauliflower Bites, Fries and other selections. Tofu is also available for all sandwiches as a vegetarian option. All menu items are affordably priced between $3.50 and $10.99. Hunnies will be centered out of the Glu Hospitality kitchen at Vesper, at 223 South Sydenham St.

Jane Guo and Jackson Fu announced the grand opening of Dim Sum House by Jane G’s at 1930 Chestnut Street February 20, 2020 opening at 11:30am. The mother-son duo, who also operate Dim Sum House in University City, will bring all-day, every-day dim sum in two styles to Center City and Rittenhouse Square. The expansive restaurant and bar will feature 4,000 square feet of space, with seating for 120 inside and 20 outside. From the kitchen, guests will enjoy a menu that focuses on two authentic styles of Chinese dim sum (Shanghai and Cantonese), plus fried rice, noodles, chef specialties and familiar Chinese favorites from the Jiang Nan region of China. Glu Hospitality, owners of Vesper Center City, Vesper Dayclub and Germantown Garden, announce the grand opening of Leda and The Swan at 1224 Chestnut Street, in Philadelphia's thriving Midtown Village neighborhood. For Leda, Glu principles Derek Gibbons and Tim Lu present a new cocktail and music hideaway for the culturally curious. The 2,500 square foot new cocktail bar and lounge will feature specialty craft cocktails created by well-known cocktail veterans Ryan Fenton and Zach Kessler. Fergie Carey and Jim McNamara, owners of Fergie's Pub, announce the grand opening of The Goat at 1907 Samson Street, in Philadelphia's bustling Rittenhouse neighborhood. The former home of Oh! Shea's will debut as a brand new, crisp, clean and quirky modern day pub and restaurant with 2,400 square feet, two bars, 118 seats, two fireplaces and eye-catching details. In the kitchen, Chef Adrian Geronimo presents a menu of elevated comfort food prepared with fresh local ingredients that is both vegetarian and vegan friendly. Highlights include Ancho Chili Braised Short Rib, Angry Mussels, Seitan Bulgogi Bowl, Reuben Burger and Green Chile BBQ Jackfruit Sandwich. At the bar, look for eight drafts pouring craft beer and a cider, plus nearly two dozen beers by the bottle and can, a selection of cider by the can, a hard seltzer, and a dozen wines by the glass.
