Chef Jose Garces Introduces Chef Dane DeMarco as Next Chef in Residency at Volvér

Chef Jose Garces announces Chef Dane DeMarco (they/them) as the next Chef in Residency at Volvér on Kimmel Cultural Campus. Chef DeMarco’s residency is timed to coincide with Philly Pride Month, starting June 15th and running through July 24th. Funding raised during this residency will provide start-up funds for DeMarco to open a brand new restaurant concept called Hanks Sandwich Co., which will offer different sandwiches inspired by international culinary traditions. DeMaro’s menu embraces a diverse range of creations such as Oxtail Terrine, Crab Corn Dog Galette, Cannoli Manicotti, Corner Fried Shrimp, Crab Corn Dog Galette, and Vanilla Krimpet. For the new Chefs in Residency Program, each Chef will showcase their top signature dishes on the Volvér menu for six to eight weeks, alongside Chef Garces' signature French-inspired dishes. Through a special donation program in partnership with the Garces Foundation, each Chef in Residency will have the opportunity to raise money to support their work with their current restaurant, or to use for the start of their next culinary journey. Volvér's hours for the season will be from Wednesday to Sunday, from 4:00pm to 9:00pm, with a special pre-theatre menu served from 4:00pm to 6:30pm, and happy hour from 7:30pm to 9:00pm. Philadelphia Theatre Company Launches Citywide Campaign to Support Sanitation Workers

Philadelphia Theatre Company is celebrating essential workers and literally talking trash throughout the run of their Co-World Premiere of Lindsay Joelle’s The Garbologists. PTC is supporting the unsung heroes of the pandemic with a free performance special for sanitation workers and their families on Thursday, November 11th at 2:30. Starting the same day, PTC will launch a citywide campaign to encourage residents to support their sanitation workers through the distribution of 10,000 #supportsantiationworkers stickers for recycling and garbage bins. These will be available through local civic associations, at special events, and at the PTC box office. The sticker used exclusive artwork from noted local artist Alloyius Mcilwaine, who is also creating and debuting five original art pieces using Philadelphia city recycling bins as a canvas. The pieces will be on display in the PTC lobby and auctioned off during the run of the show. The artwork will be available for viewing in the front windows of the Suzanne Roberts Theatre lobby starting on opening night.

Flight On Ice Heads To Delaware County With Festive Outdoor Ice Skating Rink

Flight on Ice is gliding into Delaware County with a giant outdoor ice skating rink and winter village that will pop-up in Newtown Square. Four Philadelphia region business partners and friends are bringing a festive winter village to Delaware County, in an area next to Bonefish Grill, at 4889 West Chester Pike. Steven Singer Jewelers has teamed up with Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) to support their work in finding Philadelphia homeless pets their forever homes. Singer donated $10,000 this week from early sales with a pledge to keep raising money for PAWS until December 31, 2021. Starting today, Chickie's and Pete's will debut The B Dawk Impact Burger, a Primal Supply grass-fed burger with jerk spices, provolone, Caribbean spiced pineapple sauce, jalapeño chimichurri, topped with a fried egg and arugula. Northern Liberties Presents Hound-O-Ween Pet Costume Contest and Festival to Help Street Tails

Northern Liberties Business Improvement District partners with Street Tails Animal Rescue on the 7th Annual Hound-O-Ween Fall Festival and Doggie Costume Contest. Stina Announces Monthly Guest Chef Charity Dinners with David Ansill, Joncarl Lachman and Phila Lorn

Stina BYO Chef Bobby Saritsoglou announces a brand new monthly Stina Guest Chef Series and Charity Dinner with three of Philly's finest chefs raising money in September, October and November for a different cause each month. Chef Phila Lorn will kick things off on Thursday, September 30th, with a dinner collaboration menu that will benefit Cambodian American Girls Empowering. For the second month, Stina will partner with Chef Joncarl Lachman of Noord and Winkel on Tuesday, October 28th. For the final fall event, Stina will partner with Chef David Ansill on Tuesday, November 30th. Each event will feature Stickman Brews, who will curate the evenings beer list to pair with the menus every month. For the September launch menu, guests will enjoy an eight course menu with dishes from Lorn and Saritsoglou for $65 per person, with an optional add on beer tasting with Stickman Brews for $10 per person.
