Foreigner brings their catalog of top of rock and roll hits and anthems to Bucks County on Saturday, May 4th. Comedy and late-night TV giant Jay Leno brings the laughs to the Xcite Center on Saturday, May 11th. Theatre Philadelphia proudly announces the return of Philly Theatre Week with 81 organizations, 100 events and 315+ performances between February 7 to 17, 2019. This new 10-day celebration will showcase the vibrant and diverse theatre scene in the tristate region, and help make theatre even more accessible to the community. Participating organizations range from professional regional theatres, to local community theaters, to self-producing artists, and everything in between.

Restaurateur Shafi Gaffar announces the grand opening of Makhani Modern Indian at 7 N. 3rd Street in Old City this Friday, January 25, 2019. Makhani will become Old City and Historic Philadelphia's only restaurant specializing in elevated Modern Indian cuisine. In the kitchen, Executive Chef Sanjoy Banik will focus on North Indian dishes that are made fresh-to-order and all from scratch. Look for high quality foods that many Indian restaurants don’t work with, such as lobster, scallops, lamb shanks, Chilean sea bass, and the freshest of farm to table ingredients.

Mary Dougherty of Nicole Miller to Kick-Off Exclusive New Monthly Dine & Dish Series at The Bercy in Ardmore

Mary Dougherty, the owner of Nicole Miller boutiques in Philadelphia, will be the inaugural speaker at the debut of Dine & Dish - a new monthly dinner series presented by Realtor and tastemaker Michelle Leonard, and hosted at The Bercy in Ardmore. The series will kick-off on Monday, January 28th with Dougherty sharing stories about her success in building her fashion empire. The evening's festivities begin at 5:30pm with a “meet and greet” reception, and dinner will then run through 8:30pm.

The Bercy (7 Lancaster Avenue) celebrates their first holiday season in Ardmore and on the Main Line with a very special new tradition for families. On Saturday, December 22, 2018, The Bercy will partner with The Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet for the first Children's Tea in Paris, from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. Families are invited to enjoy a special tea service seating on the upper Mezzanine with traditional finger sandwiches, pastries and fresh-baked offerings from The Bercy's own kitchen. Following tea and sandwiches, participants will enjoy selections from the Nutcracker by the Academy, followed by special make-your-own take-away gift bags.

Inis Nua Theatre presents English playwright Monsay Whitney’s Box Clever for its American premiere, directed by Artistic Director Tom Reing. In a women’s shelter in London, headstrong, mouthy and maybe a little crazy Marnie struggles to take care of her four-year-old daughter in a moving and relevant dark comedy. This edgy two-hander stars Inis newcomer Ruby Wolf as Marnie, and Inis alum Rachel Brodeur playing all other roles. Previews begin Wednesday, February 6, with opening night on Friday, February 8.

Azuka Theatre Continues to Champion Local Philadelphia Voices with New Playwrights' Group Featuring Production Commitment

Hot on the heels of receiving the Independence Award for Outstanding Production of a New Play (The Gap by Emma Goidel) at The Barrymore Awards, Azuka Theatre announces a new writers’ program designed to develop new works by Philadelphia playwrights. Azuka has long been a champion for local voices and this new writer’s group represents the next level of support. New Pages gives local playwrights a unique writer-centric space to develop their work. Based on the needs and processes of the individuals in the group, New Pages seeks to support Philadelphia playwrights from the spark of an idea to a production-ready script. Azuka Theatre has committed to producing one play per season by a writer from this group for the next three years, beginning in its 2019-2020 season. This is the first writers group in Philadelphia to make a commitment for full productions, and Azuka hopes to not only foster playwrights as they build full bodies of work, but to help them deepen their roots in the Philadelphia theatre community.

Jingle Bars Christmas Bar Crawl will spread the holiday cheer this Saturday, December 22, 2018, from 12:00pm to 6:00pm. The most festive bar crawl of them all will give you a chance to celebrate the holidays one last time as some of Midtown Village, Center City and Rittenhouse's top bars and restaurants open their doors for an afternoon of Santa-approved festivities. Jingle Bars will begin with registration at Smokin' Betty's at 116 S. 11th Street and continue on to Tinsel Christmas Pop-up Bar, followed by newly opened Tradesman's, underground secret club Kontrol, decked from top-to-bottom BRU Craft & Wurst, underground beer club U-Bahn and others.
