Steven Singer Jewelers Launches Helping Paw Charity Necklace to Benefit PAWS

Steven Singer Jewelers has teamed up with Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) to support their work in finding Philadelphia homeless pets their forever homes. The man everyone loves to hate is doing good again this holiday season by pledging to donate twenty-percent of all sales of the exclusive Helping Paw necklace to PAWS for their life-saving efforts. Singer donated $10,000 this week from early sales with a pledge to keep raising money for PAWS until December 31, 2021. Continuing to raise money for PAWS until the end of the year - and through the busy shopping season - was something that is near and dear to Singer's heart. Singer is an animal lover and adopted Buddy, his own four-legged friend, from a rescue shelter. Singer also recognized that during the pandemic dogs and furry friends helped many people through the darkest times of the last year. The Helping Paw necklace is currently on sale online and at the store.

Chickie's and Pete's Teams Up with Eagles Legend Brian Dawkins on New Burger

Chickie's and Pete's has partnered with Eagles Legend Brian Dawkins on the debut of a mouth-watering new charity burger to help The Impact Foundation. Starting today, Chickie's and Pete's will debut The B Dawk Impact Burger, a Primal Supply grass-fed burger with jerk spices, provolone, Caribbean spiced pineapple sauce, jalapeño chimichurri, topped with a fried egg and arugula. It is served with a side of Crabby Sweets with Cinnamon Maple Sauce. The new burger was designed with help from the NFL Hall of Famer, and five dollars from each and every Impact Burger go to The Impact Foundation to provide inspiration, education and resources to youth, families and communities in need. The B Dawk Impact Burger retails for $16.95, with extras available that include two lobster tails for $11 extra, crab cake for $8 extra and cold shrimp for $5. All full service Chickie's and Pete's locations in the Philadelphia region will carry the burger and participate in the fundraiser including Audubon, Bordentown, Drexel Hill, Egg Harbor, Glassboro, Marlton, Parx Casino, Roosevelt Blvd., South Philadelphia, Robbins Ave and Warrington.

Thanksgiving dinner is less than a month away, and our clients are cooking up a feast to keep you out of the kitchen and giving you more time to spend with family. This is one of the single largest days and weeks for some of our clients - and holiday meals and meal kits have been a huge saviour during these pandemic times for some of the restaurants. Azuka Theatre Presents World Premiere of Young Money by Philly Playwright Erlina Ortiz

Azuka Theatre presents the World Premiere of Young Money Philadelphia playwright Erlina Ortiz, directed by Briana Gause. The show will run from November 3 to November 21, 2021, with opening nights on Saturday, November 6th and Sunday, November 7th, at the Louis Bluver Theatre at The Drake, 302 S. Hicks Street. Azuka return to live and in-person theatre comes with their continued dedication to supporting local artists and raising up Philadelphia voices. Ortiz is part of the Azuka New Pages Writer's Group, and the entire cast and crew hail from the greater Philadelphia region. In the play, Tomasina aka Kila-T is Hip-hop's newest chart topper. Elegant and prideful Gardenia has been laid off from her job of 20 years and now she cleans Kila’s dressing room. When an attack on Kila’s concert forces the two women together, questions of morality, success, and redemption are danced around as these women discover they may have more to learn from each other than they think. Anegla Bey (they/them/theirs) plays Kila-T and Johanna Tolentino (she/her) plays Gardenia. Azuka continues its pay-what-you-decide model for this show where audiences are invited to experience the art on stage and pay based on the value of their experience after.

Northern Liberties Presents Hound-O-Ween Pet Costume Contest and Festival to Help Street Tails

Philadelphia's largest Halloween pet costume contest is back - and cuter than ever! Northern Liberties Business Improvement District partners with Street Tails Animal Rescue on the 7th Annual Hound-O-Ween Fall Festival and Doggie Costume Contest. The event is back in person and moves to the intersection of Laurel and N. 2nd Street, on Sunday, October 31st, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. This year, to ensure proper health and safety protocols, 40 of the region's most festively decked out pets are invited to strut across the stage. Contestants will compete for prizes in four categories for prizes, plus all pets will compete for the grand prize of $500, sponsored by Wilson’s Estate Jewelry. Registration for this annual benefit is only a $30 donation per pet. All proceeds benefit Street Tails Animal Rescue in their mission to help homeless and unwanted animals in the Philadelphia area.

Philadelphia Zoo Lights Up A Million Holiday Lights for Dazzling Return of LumiNature

After being cancelled due to the mandatory shut-down last year, the traditional German Christmas Market again will light up West Shore Park from Thanksgiving (November 25th) through Christmas Eve (December 24th), with a special preview weekend planned for November 20 and 21, 2021. This beloved annual Charm City tradition will feature 50+ local small businesses, makers and international vendors, with something for everyone on Santa’s shopping list. Come ready to shop for toys, apparel, jewelry, decorations, home decor, artwork and much more. Famous German vendor Käthe Wohlfahrt will return with thousands of glass ornaments, nutcrackers, pyramids and limited-edition holiday decorations. Philly AIDS Thrift 16th Anniversary Drive-In Movie Night featuring Stanley Kubrick's “The Shining” will take place at Philadelphia Navy Yard on Wednesday, October 13th, 2021, with doors opening at 6:00pm and showtime at 7:00pm. The Halloween classic is the perfect choice for the non-profit organization that has become known as one of the largest retail stores for costumes, accessories and decoration during the spooky season each and every year.
