South Philly SausageFest Returns to West Passyunk Avenue

Newbold Community Development Corporation fires up the grills again for the 2nd Annual South Philly SausageFest on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 12:00pm to 8:00pm. South Philadelphia’s annual sausage-themed food fest takes place along West Passyunk Avenue (between South Broad and 15th streets). Look for sausage and sausage-inspired dishes cooked up in a variety of traditional and unique styles - including vegan - from ten restaurants and eateries that are part of the upcoming food scene on the other side of Broad Street. Festivities also include craft beer from seven breweries, live music, vendors and family fun. The event, sponsored by AFC Urgent Care, will be a fundraiser for the Newbold CDC’s Street Cleaning Program. Admission is free with food and drink pay-as-you-go. Celebrate DNC History in the Making at Walnut Club's Women Making History Awards

The first annual Women Making History Celebration and Awards Ceremony takes place on Sunday, July 24, 2016, from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Water Works (640 Water Works Drive, Philadelphia). The event will bring together some of the most accomplished women in all aspects of business, media, arts, and politics to champion each other’s achievements. Chef Luke Palladino Debuts New Pop-Up Restaurant at Valley Forge Casino Resort

Chef Luke Palladino debuts his second restaurant, Fianco, in time for summer. Chef’s second culinary endeavor at Valley Forge Casino Resort is timed to open just for the region's summer season, which also sees the opening of Valley Beach Poolside Club.

The comfortable and intimate dining spot will not only showcase Chef Palladino’s modern seasonal Italian favorites, it also features his new interpretations of more classic Italian-American fare. Fianco shares a bar with LP Steak and includes a selection of California and Italian wines, as well as new cocktails designed specifically to pair with the chef's Italian cuisine.

33rd Street Hospitality owners Carolyn Nguyen, Michael Sultan and Alan Krawitz announce the formation of 33rd Street Hospitality Catering. Hot on the heels of the launch of their first brick-and-mortar restaurant Revolution Taco, and following the debut of new summer menus for food trucks Say Cheese Philadelphia, Street Food Philly and Taco Mondo, the trio will expand and formalize catering for private and corporate events, dinners and parties. The trio brings 25 years of combined experience in the kitchen and hospitality industry. Operations will center out of the corporation's commissary kitchen in East Falls at Sherman Mills.

Changes for the 9,000 square foot space will include additional seating, expanded bar space and party access to the BNY Mellon Wealth atrium.
