Philadelphia Restaurants Announce Cocktails to Go After State of PA Passes New Law

Philadelphia and Main Line restaurants applaud the vote today in the Pennsylvania senate that will allow the sale of to-go cocktails in the state of Pennsylvania. As they wait for Governor Tom Wolf to sign the legislation, the following ten restaurants in the city of Philadelphia and out on the Main Line announce their first menus for to-go cocktail service that will start the minute his pen hits the paper and it is legal.

Jane Guo and Jackson Fu announced the grand opening of Dim Sum House by Jane G’s at 1930 Chestnut Street February 20, 2020 opening at 11:30am. The mother-son duo, who also operate Dim Sum House in University City, will bring all-day, every-day dim sum in two styles to Center City and Rittenhouse Square. The expansive restaurant and bar will feature 4,000 square feet of space, with seating for 120 inside and 20 outside. From the kitchen, guests will enjoy a menu that focuses on two authentic styles of Chinese dim sum (Shanghai and Cantonese), plus fried rice, noodles, chef specialties and familiar Chinese favorites from the Jiang Nan region of China. Notable favorites include Dim Sum House’s celebrated Pork Soup Dumplings, Dan Dan Noodles, Roast Pork Bao, Peking Duck, Pork Belly & Mustard Greens, Hot and Sour Soup, and Norwegian Whole King Crab done three ways, which currently is around $450 market price for 8 lbs.

Glu Hospitality, owners of Vesper Center City, Vesper Dayclub and Germantown Garden, announce the grand opening of Leda and The Swan at 1224 Chestnut Street, in Philadelphia's thriving Midtown Village neighborhood. For Leda, Glu principles Derek Gibbons and Tim Lu present a new cocktail and music hideaway for the culturally curious. The 2,500 square foot new cocktail bar and lounge will feature specialty craft cocktails created by well-known cocktail veterans Ryan Fenton and Zach Kessler. Fergie Carey and Jim McNamara, owners of Fergie's Pub, announce the grand opening of The Goat at 1907 Samson Street, in Philadelphia's bustling Rittenhouse neighborhood. The former home of Oh! Shea's will debut as a brand new, crisp, clean and quirky modern day pub and restaurant with 2,400 square feet, two bars, 118 seats, two fireplaces and eye-catching details. In the kitchen, Chef Adrian Geronimo presents a menu of elevated comfort food prepared with fresh local ingredients that is both vegetarian and vegan friendly. Christmas Village in Baltimore is ready to transform West Shore Park (501 Light Street) into a traditional indoor and outdoor German Christmas Market. For the new holiday season, this annual Baltimore tradition will open early with a preview weekend on Saturday, November 23 and Sunday, November 24, 2019. Christmas Village will then open regular hours for the season starting on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28th through Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24th. During the preview, visitors are invited to catch a first glimpse at the remodeled and expanded layout, with a new expanded open floor plan for the stage, added decorations and space for the Christmas Village Beer Garden, a grand new centerpiece in the middle of the wooden shopping huts, an expanded outdoor food and drink area, a new kids’ corner, and the addition of a second circle of wooden shopping huts. The 65 feet tall Christmas Village Ferris Wheel will again return to right next to the Visitor Center.
