Philadelphia Restaurant Guide To Thanksgiving Dinner

Leave the cooking to Aversa PR's client restaurants for this Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving dinner is less than a month away, and our clients are cooking up a feast to keep you out of the kitchen and giving you more time to spend with family. This is one of the single largest days and weeks for some of our clients - and holiday meals and meal kits have been a huge saviour during these pandemic times for some of the restaurants. For our early list for Thanksgiving please find menus below for Garces Trading Company, Chez Colet at Sofitel Philadelphia at Rittenhouse Square, Bridget Foy's, Positano Coast, El Camino Real, Hudson Table, Sophie's BBQ, Fork, Panorama. Other clients including Stove and Tap, Hawthornes and more will be coming as we get closed to the holiday. If you have an immediate deadline and need additional spots and updates please let me know. Wonderspaces Philadelphia Expands with New Installations and Debuts Bar and Cocktail Program

Wonderspaces Philadelphia heads into fall and the holiday season at Fashion District Philadelphia by adding two new extraordinary installations to its show of interactive and experiential artwork. The current collection of global art will now include the most ever pieces, sixteen in total, with the addition of On a Human Scale by Matthew Matthew, Before I Die by Candy Chang and returning favorite Dinner Party by Charlotte Stoudt, Laura Wexler, Angel Soto, Skybound, Ryot & Telexist. On a Human Scale is a project which unites voices and faces of the world through technology. The project started as an experiment, by filming everyday New Yorkers singing. The individual voices are woven into an interactive instrument which visitors are invited to play, bringing the immersive audio-visual installation to life. Before I Die is a global participatory public art project that reimagines our relationship with death and with one another in the public realm. Originally created by artist Candy Chang in New Orleans after the death of a loved one, the artwork invites people to reflect and share their personal aspirations in public.

Azuka Theatre Presents World Premiere of Young Money by Philly Playwright Erlina Ortiz

Azuka Theatre presents the World Premiere of Young Money Philadelphia playwright Erlina Ortiz, directed by Briana Gause. The show will run from November 3 to November 21, 2021, with opening nights on Saturday, November 6th and Sunday, November 7th, at the Louis Bluver Theatre at The Drake, 302 S. Hicks Street. Azuka return to live and in-person theatre comes with their continued dedication to supporting local artists and raising up Philadelphia voices. Ortiz is part of the Azuka New Pages Writer's Group, and the entire cast and crew hail from the greater Philadelphia region. In the play, Tomasina aka Kila-T is Hip-hop's newest chart topper. Elegant and prideful Gardenia has been laid off from her job of 20 years and now she cleans Kila’s dressing room. When an attack on Kila’s concert forces the two women together, questions of morality, success, and redemption are danced around as these women discover they may have more to learn from each other than they think. Anegla Bey (they/them/theirs) plays Kila-T and Johanna Tolentino (she/her) plays Gardenia. Azuka continues its pay-what-you-decide model for this show where audiences are invited to experience the art on stage and pay based on the value of their experience after.

Northern Liberties Presents Hound-O-Ween Pet Costume Contest and Festival to Help Street Tails

Philadelphia's largest Halloween pet costume contest is back - and cuter than ever! Northern Liberties Business Improvement District partners with Street Tails Animal Rescue on the 7th Annual Hound-O-Ween Fall Festival and Doggie Costume Contest. The event is back in person and moves to the intersection of Laurel and N. 2nd Street, on Sunday, October 31st, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. This year, to ensure proper health and safety protocols, 40 of the region's most festively decked out pets are invited to strut across the stage. Contestants will compete for prizes in four categories for prizes, plus all pets will compete for the grand prize of $500, sponsored by Wilson’s Estate Jewelry. Registration for this annual benefit is only a $30 donation per pet. All proceeds benefit Street Tails Animal Rescue in their mission to help homeless and unwanted animals in the Philadelphia area.

Figo Ristorante and Figo Pizzeria to Debut in Northern Liberties by Glu Hospitality

Glu Hospitality and partners Derek Gibbons and Tim Lu announce the grand opening of Figo Ristorante and Figo Pizzeria this Friday, October 15th at 1033 N. 2nd Street. The two side-by-side restaurants will debut in the heart of the Northern Liberties Restaurant Row, in the former home of Darling's Diner and Wahlburgers, next to the Piazza. When opened, Figo will be the largest restaurant in the Northern Liberties Business Improvement District, offering nearly 10,000 square feet of space and 250+ seats. Figo Ristorante will be a full service restaurant, kitchen, bar and outdoor patio offering Italian cuisine by Chef Hee "Chino" Chang, with craft cocktails, espresso martini flights, Italian soda flights, two dozen taps, and over two dozen wines by the glass, bottle and flight. Opening services will include dinner, indoor dining, outdoor dining, delivery and take-out, with late night, happy hour and brunch service to be launched later in the fall. Next door, at the North end of the property, Figo Pizzeria will offer pizza pies and stuffed hoagies with lunch, mid-day and dinner service, with cafe seating outside and take-out/pick-up and delivery.

Philadelphia Zoo Lights Up A Million Holiday Lights for Dazzling Return of LumiNature

Philadelphia Zoo (3400 W. Girard) announces the dazzling return of LumiNature Presented by Chase, from November 18th to January 9th. The giant-sized holiday extravaganza will transform the entire Zoo into a dazzling winter wonderland. Guests will experience a magical journey of lights, music, sounds and surprises. LumiNature will feature 14 illuminated experience zones that will feature lively themed displays, newly-enhanced installations and hundreds of thousands of twinkling lights. Highlights will include a 100 ft-long aquarium tunnel, enormous jellyfish, a brand new octopus tree, a 21-feet tall brilliant colored snake, hundreds of illuminated penguins, giant cat eyes glowing in the dark of night, a 22-feet-tall Butterfly Tree, a new Wilderness Express Train, and a 25-foot tree made entirely of lit flamingo lawn ornaments.

Philadelphia Theatre Company Announces 2021-2022 Season And A Return To The Suzanne Roberts Theatre

Philadelphia Theatre Company is ready to welcome audiences back into the Suzanne Roberts Theatre for the return of live, in-person theatre. The 2021-2022 season will feature two world premiere plays, a Tony Award-winning play with soaring gospel and R&B music, and a chance for audiences to reawaken their senses. The curtain rises again with The Garbologists by Lindsay Joelle, a Co-World Premiere with the City Theatre in Pittsburgh. The comedy runs November 11 to December 5, 2021. The season continues in the new year with Tarell Alvin McCraney’s NYC smash hit Choir Boy, set to run from February 18 to March 13, 2022. Choir Boy will be directed by PTC Resident Artist Jeffrey Page. The season concludes with the World Premiere of Madeline Sayet’s solo show, Where We Belong, from April 15 to May 8, 2022.

Christmas Village in Baltimore announces it will return to Inner Harbor for the coming 2021 holiday season. After being cancelled due to the mandatory shut-down last year, the traditional German Christmas Market again will light up West Shore Park from Thanksgiving (November 25th) through Christmas Eve (December 24th), with a special preview weekend planned for November 20 and 21, 2021. This beloved annual Charm City tradition will feature 50+ local small businesses, makers and international vendors, with something for everyone on Santa’s shopping list. Come ready to shop for toys, apparel, jewelry, decorations, home decor, artwork and much more. Famous German vendor Käthe Wohlfahrt will return with thousands of glass ornaments, nutcrackers, pyramids and limited-edition holiday decorations. Vendors will be located outside in traditional festively-decorated wooden huts, plus inside the giant heated festival tent. The 65 ft. tall Ferris Wheel, located right next to the Baltimore Visitor Center, will be returning in its full glory to add to the holiday and festive vibes. Philly AIDS Thrift Hosts 16th Anniversary Drive-in Movie Night Featuring The Shining

Philly AIDS Thrift, in collaboration with Philadelphia Film Society, presents a special Halloween-themed, family-friendly, socially distanced night at the movies! Philly AIDS Thrift 16th Anniversary Drive-In Movie Night featuring Stanley Kubrick's “The Shining” will take place at Philadelphia Navy Yard on Wednesday, October 13th, 2021, with doors opening at 6:00pm and showtime at 7:00pm. The Halloween classic is the perfect choice for the non-profit organization that has become known as one of the largest retail stores for costumes, accessories and decoration during the spooky season each and every year. In addition to the Drive-In Movie Night, Philly AIDS Thrift will give away birthday cake on October 16th (first come, first served) and host their annual 50% art sale including all frames and art supplies.
