Philadelphia Theatre Company Announces New Season with Sweat, Bridges of Madison County and How to Catch Creation

Philadelphia Theatre Company is ready to take off into the future. The company announced its first produced season under its new leadership team, Producing Artistic Director Paige Price and Managing Director Emily Zeck, to an audience in the theatre’s space in the Suzanne Roberts Theatre, 480 S. Broad St. PTC announced that this inaugural season under new leadership includes a Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Lynn Nottage that takes place in Pennsylvania, a World Premiere from the 2017 Kilroys List, and a TONY-winning Jason Robert Brown musical set in the Midwest during the 60s based on a popular bestselling novel. The theatre also announced the return of a wildly popular show for its youngest audiences. East Passyunk Revs Engines for 13th Annual Car Show and Street Festival with Hot Rides, Street Food, Live Bands, Family Fun and More

East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District (EPABID) is revving up for the 13th Annual Car Show and Street Festival presented by Jefferson Health Methodist Hospital on Sunday, July 29, 2018, from 11:00am to 4:00pm, on EPA between Broad and Dickinson streets. Look for nearly 175+ muscle, classic, antique, custom and show cars, trucks and motorcycles will line the Avenue, with street vendors, circus performances, rack sales, kids’ activities, live music and the Bang! Boom! CRAFT! Show in between. Wine and dine among the cars as award-winning restaurants and food trucks serve specially priced street food and summertime drinks. Admission is FREE for attendees and $20 for cars. Check-in for cars is moved up this year to 8:00am to 11:00 am. The event's rain date is Sunday, August 5, 2018. Christmas Village in Philadelphia Announces New Location for 10th Anniversary

Christmas Village in Philadelphia announces its return to LOVE Park for its 10th anniversary. Philadelphia’s largest holiday attraction will be the first event to be held in newly renovated LOVE Park (1500 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102). From Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 23th, 2017) through Christmas Eve (Sunday, December 24th, 2017), Christmas Village will transform LOVE Park into an authentic open-air German Christmas market with holiday sights and sounds featuring thousands of twinkling lights, festive Christmas decorations, live music at the main stage, children’s activities and photos with Santa. Shoppers will find high-quality, international and local gifts along with decorations. Bartram's Garden Partners with Little Babies and Art in the Age During Honey Fest

Bartram’s Garden (54th Street & Lindbergh Blvd.) has been busy as a bee preparing to host its first ‘BUZZED’ Ice Cream Social during the Philadelphia Honey Festival. On Sunday, September 11, 2016, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, enjoy an exclusive ice cream flavor created by Little Baby’s Ice Cream using ingredients found in the Garden, plus cool off with Art in the Age cocktails and boozy ice cream floats. Bartram's Garden Unveils New 19th Century Public Garden

Visit Bartram’s Garden (5400 Lindbergh Blvd.) this summer to see a new feature: the Ann Bartram Carr Garden, the only 19th-century flower garden in Philadelphia. The Ann Bartram Carr Garden is the result of a transformative $2.7-million project and marks the first major garden restoration at Bartram’s Garden in nearly a century. Bartram’s Garden, including the new Ann Bartram Carr Garden, is free to those who wish to explore on their own from dawn to dusk. Old City District Debuts Old City Eats at 32 Top Philadelphia Restaurants

Old City District showcases its thriving dining scene with the debut of the largest restaurant program in at least 20+ years. New Stage Comedy "Muddled" by Josh Piven Makes World Premiere in Philadelphia

New York Times best-selling humorist Josh Piven brings his unique brand of comedy to Philadelphia with the world premiere of Muddled, A Stage Comedy, from June 16 through June 26 at Drexel URBN Annex (3401 Filbert St). Penned by the author of The Worst-Case Scenario Survival Handbook and directed by William Steinberger, Muddled gives theater audiences a best-case scenario for what happens when a group of hot-headed headbangers meet the home-grown hipsters of Brooklyn. In this craft brewed comedy, Piven trades navigating alligator pits for navigating mosh pits, and surviving frostbite for surviving the frosty bite of a quick-witted hipster. Muddled is Piven’s second play, following 2013’s hit No Reservations.
