America's First Socially Distanced Christmas Restaurant Tinsel Debuts in Philadelphia

Tis the most wonderful time of year in Philadelphia - during one of the most challenging years in modern history. Craft Concepts Group and owner Teddy Sourias will debut America's first socially-distanced Christmas open-air restaurant and eatery this coming weekend taking over a portion of 12th Street in Midtown Village. Tinsel in July will debut on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 3:00pm in front of Finn McCools (118 S. 12th), Tinsel (116 S. 12th), the former Midtown and Penn Six (114 S. 12th) and Go Popcorn (a neighbor of CCG's at 114 S. 12th) with socially-distanced cafe seating, frozen and ice cold Christmas cocktails, boozy Grinch pops, a brand new eatery, holiday decor and festive tunes.

First-Ever Black Female Chef Debuts at Spruce Street Harbor Park with French Toast Bites

French Toast Bites by Lokal Artisan Foods will bring the sugar and spice and everything nice to Spruce Street Harbor Park by Univest for the summer of 2020. Chef, entrepreneur and owner Charisse McGill will become the first-ever Black female operator to be at Spruce Street Harbor when she opens this coming weekend. On the menu, look for her signature French Toast Bites with unlimited toppings, vegan French Toast Bites, new French Toast Milkshakes, bacon on a stick and other summer-time treats. French Toast Bites will occupy the former pod of HipCityVeg across from the floating Barge in the heart of the boardwalk.

Parks On Tap Announces New Summer-Long Location at Fairmount Waterworks

Parks on Tap announces that a second summer-long location will make its debut this Wednesday, July 8th outside the famous Water Works (640 Waterworks Drive). The once traveling beer garden that gives back will now operate two stationary locations at the same time for the balance of the summer. The new Waterworks location will offer beautiful and sweeping views of Boathouse Row and the Schuylkill River. When open, patrons will be able to enjoy fresh food, beers on tap, wine and non-alcoholic beverages set in an outdoor environment with comfortable chairs and clean restrooms. Waterworks joins the already operating Parks on Tap outside Fairmount Horticulture Center Arboretum (100 N. Horticultural Drive). The new location will feature the same proven health and safety protocols that have already been launched with the Horticulture Center site, including additional cleaning measures, ability for contact tracing, and other procedures as prescribed by the City of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania. Parks on Tap is family (and fido) friendly.

Northern Liberties Business Improvement District announces the debut of Easy StrEats on Saturday, July 11, 2020. Between Noon and 8:00pm, North Second Street will be closed to vehicular traffic for one half mile, from Germantown to Spring Garden. Easy StrEats is modeled after the City’s Open Streets program and is not a street festival, but instead is an opportunity for people to spread out and explore Northern Liberties’ restaurants while safely distancing. For restaurants, this is an important day where they can safely expand their seating capacity and aid in recovery efforts from shut-downs earlier this year.

Glu Hospitality announces the season grand opening of Vesper Dayclub starting this Friday, July 3rd in time for the Independence Day holiday weekend. Philadelphia's only 21 and up swimming pool and outdoor dining oasis will offer local residents the opportunity to enjoy swimming, outdoor sips and poolside eats without having to leave the city boundaries. For those adults not opting to go to the shore and who are staying close to home, this will bring a brand new option in the city that joins legal cocktails to go and expanded outdoor dining in the city. The 30,000 gallon heated saltwater pool and all of its amenities are located in the heart of Northern Liberties at 1031 Germantown Avenue. Along with Vesper Dayclub, guests and the public are invited to also dine at Philadelphia's lush secret outdoor garden and cafe with Germantown Garden. Germantown Garden this week doubles their menu for the summer and has added additional outdoor and sidewalk seating due to high demand.

Grand Opening During Covid19: Hospitality Group Pivots from Nightlife to Fried Chicken

Glu Hospitality announces the virtual grand opening of Hunnies Crispy Chicken featuring a full menu of crispy chicken comfort food favorites from Chef Chino Chang. Owners Derek Gibbons and Tim Lu, of Leda and The Swan, Vesper Center City, Vesper Dayclub and Germantown Garden, present their newest food concept that officially launches this weekend on Friday, May 1, 2020. While the nightlife industry is on hold, and their two newest restaurant concepts have had their grand openings postponed, the duo decided to wait no more for their new crispy chicken concept. Hunnies Crispy Chicken will launch this week officially on Grubhub and Door Dash for delivery - as well as for contactless pick-up in Center City. The menu will feature a selection of crispy chicken sandwiches that include Hunnies Crispy, Buffalo, Crispy Caesar and Hunnies Chicken and Waffles. The menu also features Crispy Chicken salads, Crispy Tenders and Wings, Crispy Cauliflower Bites, Fries and other selections. Tofu is also available for all sandwiches as a vegetarian option. All menu items are affordably priced between $3.50 and $10.99. Hunnies will be centered out of the Glu Hospitality kitchen at Vesper, at 223 South Sydenham St.
