Comedy Central's Natasha Leggero Headlines July 4th Weekend in Philadelphia

Celebrated actress, writer and comedian Natasha Leggero will headline 4th of July weekend festivities at Valley Forge Casino Resort. Leggero will bring her stand-up comedy show to King of Prussia on Saturday, July 2, 2016 during the on-going series Valley Forge Music Fair. The timing couldn’t be better for Philadelphia fans, as Leggero is currently in the new comedy Dice! (by Andrew Dice Clay) on Showtime, and her show Another Period starts a third season on Comedy Central on June 15th. Her performance will take place in The Venue at Valley Forge Casino Resort (1160 First Avenue) at 9:00pm. Doors open at 8:00pm. Inis Nua Theatre Company moves to The Proscenium Theatre at its new home The Drake (at 203 South Hicks Street) to present The Radicalisation of Bradley Manning by Tim Price. The American premiere of this Welsh play revives some not-so-long-ago American history to tell the story of the young Army intelligence analyst who leaked the largest amount of classified documents in U.S. history. 
The Radicalisation of Bradley Manning opens on Friday, April 29 at 8:00 pm, with previews on Wednesday, April 27 and Thursday, April 28 at 7:00 pm. The Radicalisation of Bradley Manning runs for a total of 16 performances, through May 15, 2016. All shows are at the Proscenium Theatre at The Drake, 203 South Hicks Street. Behind the curtain of the big top, no one is laughing harder than the saddest clown of them all. Philadelphia Artists’ Collective, in partnership with Philadelphia School of Circus Arts, presents the Philadelphia premiere of He Who Gets Slapped, from March 30 to April 16, 2016, at Broad Street Ministry (315 S. Broad Street). A cast of clowns, lion-tamers and ringmasters perform their routines under a striped awning and glowing lights.  When a new clown arrives, his cheerful makeup conceals a dark secret from his past. PAC’s Co-Founding Artistic Director Damon Bonetti directs an ensemble cast of familiar faces, who will perform their own circus skills with training from PSCA’s Circus Art / Movement Choreographer Terry Brennan.

An Old City staple is sending their name up in flames. As of March 31, 2016, Nick’s Roast Beef at 16 S. 2nd Street will be known as Nick’s Bar and Grille. The new name will debut to coincide with the addition of a new barbecue menu using house-smoked meats. New cocktails and spirits will be added to the drink menu, and customers can look for drink tastings with local purveyors. Along with the new name and menu, customers can enjoy changes in the dining room with new custom-built tables, a group table, new high-tops, renovations to the walls and ceilings, and new decor.
