Christmas Village Brings Holiday Surprises to Baltimore with New Preview Weekend, New Layout, New Tree Lighting, New Beer Tastings, and More Food

Christmas Village in Baltimore is ready to transform West Shore Park (501 Light Street) into a traditional indoor and outdoor German Christmas Market. For the new holiday season, this annual Baltimore tradition will open early with a brand-new preview weekend on Saturday, November 17 and Sunday, November 18, 2018. Christmas Village will then open regular hours for the season starting on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 22nd through Christmas Eve, Sunday, December 24th. During the preview, visitors are invited to catch a first glimpse at the remodeled event venue featuring not only an indoor area, but also an extended outdoor area with booths along the Inner Harbor promenade and a twenty-one-foot-tall Christmas tree right next to the PANDORA Ice Rink. The Christmas Tree, provided by Christmas Village, will be part of the new Holiday District in the Inner Harbor. The Official Tree Lighting Ceremony in partnership with Waterfront Partnership is set for the first day of the preview, on November 17th.

Theatre Philadelphia Celebrates the Delaware Valley's Thriving Theatre Scene with Return of the 2018 Barrymore Awards and Celebration

Theatre Philadelphia proudly announces the 2018 nominees for the Barrymore Award for Excellence in Theatre. Celebrating the rich, diverse professional theatre scene in the Greater Philadelphia region, the Barrymore Ceremony will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 7:00pm at the Bok Building at 1901 S. 9th Street in South Philadelphia. Guests will continue the festivities with an after-party Celebration at the same location. Hawthornes Beer Cafe (738 S. 11th) celebrates the return of fall with the 3rd Annual Great Cider and Beer Festival on Saturday, November 3, 2018, from 11:00am to 8:00pm. With the crisp, cool air moving in, Hawthornes will close down 11th Street from Fitzwater to Catherine, and showcase over 50+ seasonal beers, new and favorite ciders, barrel-aged rarities and wine selections pouring for only five dollars each. Look for a full line-up of Philadelphia's top food trucks to serve warm comfort food for one of the final outdoor festivals of the fall season. Witch Craft Beer Crawl Casts Spell on East Passyunk Avenue

Grab your broomstick and fly around East Passyunk Avenue during the East Passyunk Witch CRAFT Beer Crawl on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, from 5:30pm to 9:30pm. Enjoy seasonal craft beers bubbling up in cauldrons at 17 bars and restaurants along Philadelphia's restaurant row. Registration takes place at Garage Passyunk (1231 East Passyunk) from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. South Street Scares Up Family Fun During Pumpkinfest

South Street Headhouse District has plenty of tricks and treats for children and adults of all ages during the neighborhood’s annual Halloween festivities. On Saturday, October 27, 2018, from 12:00pm to 5:00pm, South Street Pumpkin Fest returns to Headhouse Square (2nd and Lombard) with circus performances, horse and wagon hay rides, crafts for kids, seasonal bites, pumpkin putt-putt golf, a straw bale maze, face painting and costume contests and even a a pumpkin pie eating contest. Businesses will also open their doors for trick or treaters (12 and under) from 12:00pm to 5:00pm.

Philadelphia Theatre Company Kicks Off 44th Season with Pennsylvania Premiere of Lynn Nottage's Sweat→

Philadelphia Theatre Company kicks off the 2018-2019 season with the Pennsylvania premiere of Lynn Nottage’s Sweat. This Pulitzer Prize for Drama winner explores Reading, Pennsylvania’s shrinking industrial economy and shares the fear, tragedy and hopefulness of a community on the verge of inevitable change. The production will kick-off the first produced season under new Producing Artistic Director Paige Price. Justin Emeka makes his Philadelphia debut directing a cast filled with local stars and Barrymore Award winners who have extensive theatre, film and television credits. Sweat will run from October 12 to November 4, 2018 at Philadelphia Theatre Company’s stage at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre, 480 S. Broad Street. Opening Night is Wednesday, October 17th at 7:00pm.
