Sublime With Rome To Headline New Year's Eve Celebrations At Valley Forge Casino Resort

Valley Forge Casino Resort rings in 2017 with something for everyone on New Year’s Eve and Day - with festive offerings that include live music, champagne toasts, four course dinner, karaoke party, dance party and open bar, countdowns around the world and a New Year’s Day brunch buffet. Headlining New Year’s Eve festivities will be punk band Sublime with Rome, performing a concert as part of Valley Forge Music Fair. Revolution Chop House will serve up a special four-course New Year's Eve menu and Midnight champagne toast. Valley Tavern will offer a special New Year’s Eve menu, then offer a late-night kareoke party. The Vault hosts a New Year’s Eve bash complete with open bar, dancing, live music and a buffet. Center Bar on the casino floor will countdown Midnight around the world ending with a complimentary toast at Midnight. Cinder Now Open, Bringing Ciders, Sours And Artisan Pizza To Rittenhouse Square

Teddy Sourias of Craft Concepts (BRU Craft & Wurst, U-Bahn, Uptown Beer Garden, Finn McCool's Ale House) announces the opening of Cinder today at 1500 Locust Street. The Rittenhouse cider/sour bar and artisanal pizza kitchen features ciders and wild ales on the 32 taps and 70+ bottles. Three bell chef rated Jonathan Petruce and his culinary team will prepare pizzas, mussels, salads and small plates in the open kitchen focusing on local ingredients. Rustic pizza using creative and classical toppings will be prepared in custom-built wood-fired pizza oven. Beer will be poured from full custom design system housed in copper pipes. The bar will also pour 10 wines by the glass and over 20 wines by the bottle. The stylish and sophisticated 2,400 square foot bar and dining room seats 34 on custom built high-tops and 34 on low-tops and banquets, with 16 at the bar.

South Street Scares Up Family Fun During Pumpkinfest, Trick-Or-Treating And Halloween Movies Under The Shambles

South Street Headhouse District has plenty of tricks and treats for children and adults of all ages during the neighborhood’s annual Halloween festivities. On Saturday, October 29, 2016, from Noon extending into the evening, PumpkinFest returns to Headhouse Square (2nd and Lombard). From 12:00pm to 5:00pm, enjoy circus performances, magicians, horse and wagon hay rides, live music, shopping, seasonal bites, straw bale maze, pumpkin decorating, make and take crafts, face painting and new costume contests. Businesses will open their doors for trick or treaters (12 and under) from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. After hours, starting at 6:00pm, the little ghosts and goblins are invited for some fright night family fun with Halloween Movies under the Shambles with a showing of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” and “Beetlejuice.” The frightfully fun day concludes with a special grown-up interactive late night showing of the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" starting at 9pm hosted by DJ Robert Drake.

Inis Nua Theatre Company Partners With Drexel For Revival Of Dublin By Lamplight

Inis Nua Theatre Company will team up with Drexel University’s Mandell Professionals in Residence Project (MPiRP) to present a revival of Dublin by Lamplight by Michael West. Inis Nua’s breakout hit from 2011 will be remounted with some familiar names, a grand two-level stage, and the talents of co-op students working side-by-side with the professional actors. Using commedia dell’arte make-up stylings and Storytellers theatre, the cast of six will portray 40 different characters in the fast-paced tale about the launch of the Irish National Theatre. Dublin by Lamplight runs November 9 to 20th at Drexel’s Mandell Theater (3201 Chestnut Street).
