Philadelphia Doubles the Halloween Fun with East Passyunk Fall Fest and Spooky Saturday

East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District (EPABID) presents a double dose of spooktacular fun with the 3rd Annual Fall Fest and Spooky Saturday on Saturday, October 25, 2014, from 11:00am to 4:00pm. Spooky Saturdayfree family fun will include cider and donuts, pumpkin painting, costume contests (for children and dogs), pet treats, art lessons, children’s dance party and pet adoptables. Fall Fest will feature outdoor seasonal fare from local restaurants and food trucks, 40 local artists and crafters, live bands, sidewalk sales and a fall plant sale. Business between the Singing Fountain and Mifflin Triangle (Mifflin and East Passyunk) will open doors to trick or treaters. Free bags will be given away to the first 500 children. Most activities will be held at the Singing Fountain (EPA and Tasker), with select activities to be held at Mifflin Triangle (EPA and Mifflin). Kids only (11:00am to 1:00pm)

  • Kids' costume contest for Scariest, Funniest + Most Original, staggered by age groups (11am - ages 4 & under, 11:30am - ages 5 to 8, Noon - ages 9 to 12)
  • Art projects by the Young Rembrandts 
  • Dance party with Halloween favorite tunes
  • Free trick or treat bags from Aversa PR & Events for the first 500 kids
  • Pumpkin painting (first come, first served) at Urban Jungle
  • Trick or treating at the craft show

Fido too (12:30pm) 

  • Dog costume contest for Scariest, Funniest + Most Original with prizes from Doggie Style 
  • Fido treat and water station by Doggie Style

ALONG THE AVENUE:

  • Alphabet Aquarium (1720 EPA) – Temporary tattoos (1:00pm to 3:00pm)

  • Hip & Thrifty (1810 EPA) Halloween Headquarters costume sale
  • Favorite seasonal food specials including the Thanksgiving waffle at Chhaya Café (1819 EPA) and Thanksgiving Panini at Fuel (1919 EPA)

AT MIFFLIN TRIANGLE:

  • Dance party with BenFM playing musical favorites and games (1:30pm to 3:30pm)
  • Free cider and donuts (starting at 1:30pm while supplies last)
  • Spooky chalk drawing (1:30pm to 3:30pm)

Food and drinks from mobile vendors and restaurants are pay-as-you-go. Other activities, tricks or treats, and cider and donuts are free unless otherwise noted. In the event of rain, Fall Festival music and craft show will be cancelled. Spooky Saturday’s costume contest and trick or treating will move in front of Urban Jungle (1526 EPA).
