Revolution Taco throws their name onto the ballot for Philadelphia's best DNC-themed food during the upcoming convention with an ice cream sandwich partnership with Weckerly's Ice Cream.

Coalition building is the hallmark of any good political convention. With the Democratic National Convention taking over Philadelphia this month, two unlikely names will collaborate for the greater good of the delegates during the hottest time of the year. Cool down? Like a little heat? This choice offers a politically correct alternative for everyone!

As a nod to the DNC, and the Democratic nominee, Revolution Taco (2015 Walnut St) and Weckerly's Ice Cream will partner on the Donkey Kick, the ultimate ice cream sandwich with a spicy kick inspired by Hillary Clinton's love of chocolate, brownies and heat!

Bartram's Garden Unveils New 19th Century Public Garden

Visit Bartram’s Garden (5400 Lindbergh Blvd.) this summer to see a new feature: the Ann Bartram Carr Garden, the only 19th-century flower garden in Philadelphia. The Ann Bartram Carr Garden is the result of a transformative $2.7-million project and marks the first major garden restoration at Bartram’s Garden in nearly a century. Bartram’s Garden, including the new Ann Bartram Carr Garden, is free to those who wish to explore on their own from dawn to dusk. Bartram's Garden is open year-round, with the exception of City-observed holidays.

South Street Spring Festival Announces Restaurants, Philly Taco Eating Contest and Maifest

South Street Headhouse District serves up the best tastes and sips of the city during South Street Spring Festival, on Saturday, May 7, 2016, from 11:00am to 8:00pm. Philadelphia’s largest annual spring block party announces 30+ restaurants, bars, bakeries and food trucks that will fill the 12 blocks of South Street and surrounding streets. Brauhaus Schmitz will return with Maifest on the 700 block with with German beers, dancers, music, food, flower crowns and even a Maypole. The giant all-ages outdoor party will also include a new Philly Taco eating contest featuring a Jim’s Steaks cheesesteak wrapped in a giant slice of Lorenzo & Sons pizza. Philadelphia Celebrates Earth Day with Clean Air Council's 35th Run for Clean Air Presented by Toyota Hybrids

Clean Air Council presents Philadelphia’s largest Earth Day celebration with the 35th Run for Clean Air Presented by Toyota Hybrids. Nearly 2,500 participants are expected to run and walk on Saturday, April 16, 2016, starting at 7:00am, outside the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Participants can choose from four races (5K Run, PHLY 10K Run, 3K Walk, Kids’ fun run) while family and friends cheer them on. Afterwards, enjoy Earth Day at a special open-air festival in front of the iconic Philadelphia Museum of Art featuring an eco beer garden, food and drink, games, vendors, music and interactive displays. Online registration has closed, but in-person registration is still available on the day of the run, as well as during in-person packet pick-ups on Friday April 15, from 10:00am to 6:00pm at the Clean Air Council office, 135 S 19th St, Ste. 300 (19th and Walnut). Nick's Roast Beef in Old City to Change Name, Menu and Dining Room, Adds BBQ Menu

An Old City staple is sending their name up in flames. As of March 31, 2016, Nick’s Roast Beef at 16 S. 2nd Street will be known as Nick’s Bar and Grille. The new name will debut to coincide with the addition of a new barbecue menu using house-smoked meats. New cocktails and spirits will be added to the drink menu, and customers can look for drink tastings with local purveyors. Along with the new name and menu, customers can enjoy changes in the dining room with new custom-built tables, a group table, new high-tops, renovations to the walls and ceilings, and new decor.
