Hawthornes Beer Cafe Hosts 9th Annual IPA, Champagne and Rose Block Party

The hoppiest day of the year in South Philly is back! Hawthornes Beer Cafe (738 S. 11th Street) presents the ninth edition of their popular IPA block party back again with sparkling surprises added to the mix. The 9th Annual IPA, Champagne and Rose Block Party on Saturday, May 12, 2018, from 12:00pm to 8:00pm will still bring you one of the city's best line-ups of IPAs for only $5.00 each, plus small batch champagnes and roses. Come out for one of South Philadelphia's largest spring block parties, with over 75 total selections of beer, champagne, rose, plus food from ten food trucks, live music, family fun and much more. The party will stretch from 11th and Fitzwater to 11th and Catharine. This all day, all ages event is free, open to the public, and dog friendly. Mad Rex Launches Post-Apocalyptic Happy Hour in Fishtown

Mad Rex Restaurant and VR Lounge (1000 Frankford Ave) announces the debut of the "Hour After Happy Hour" designed to celebrate the hour after the end of the world. The world’s first post-apocalypse themed restaurant and virtual reality lounge has fired up a full menu of new dishes and happy hour exclusives designed around Mad Rex's unique theme. New dishes will start at $3 and include Rex Ribs, Chicken Wings (three styles), Grilled Black Rice, Foragers Flatbread, Pig Wings, Chicharron and Lamb Merguez Hot Rock. The Lamb is the newest black rocking dining option - where patrons will fire up their meat on a black lava rock coming out of the oven at 700 degrees and arriving table side at 500 degrees. On the bar side, survivors get ready to raise a glass with drink specials starting at $2 and include the exclusive Mad Rex IPA designed with Blueprint Brewing Company. Other drink specials also include $4 off camel bags that are served on IV racks to allow patron's hand to be free up during their time in the virtual reality lounge. Happy Hour will run weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, and include free virtual reality with any happy hour purchase.

Taste of Ardmore to Highlight Ardmore Restaurants; Kitchen and Home Brew Competitions

Join the Ardmore community on October 12, 2017 from 5:30pm-9:00pm for the ninth Annual Taste of Ardmore, produced by The Ardmore Initiative, presented and hosted by Ardmore Toyota. This signature fall event allows guests to sample a variety of dishes prepared by Ardmore restaurants and enjoy hand-selected wines, specialty cocktails, and craft brews. Taste of Ardmore focuses on Ardmore’s vibrant and growing restaurant scene – demonstrating why Ardmore is becoming a true Main Line destination for food lovers. Businesses bringing their best “tastes” include: Iron Hill Brewery, Jack McShea’s of Ardmore, Maido, Marokko, Not Your Average Joe’s, PokéOno, Sam’s Asian Cuisine, The Tasting Room and more. Newcomers participating for the first time this year include Delice et Chocolat, The Bercy, and Yi’s Boba. Philadelphia Beekeepers Guild Hosts Philadelphia Honey Festival September 7, 9 & 10

The Philadelphia Beekeepers Guild announces the return of the Philadelphia Honey Festival on September 7, 9 and 10, 2017 at Glen Foerd on the Delaware, Wyck Historic House and Bartram’s Garden. All three historic sites will be buzzing with three days of activities that include open hive demonstrations, honey extractions, open hive talks, children’s activities, honey tastings, mead tastings, sales from local beekeepers, presentations and a bee-bearding demonstration. Parks on Tap Jr. also makes its official debut for the final day of the Philadelphia Honey Festival 2017 at Bartram’s Garden. This is a mini version of the Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, Fairmount Park Conservancy and Avram Hornik of FCM Hospitality traveling beer garden. Revolution Taco And 33rd Street Hospitality Chefs To Partner With Neshaminy Creek On New Kitchen At Borough Brewhouse In Jenkintown

Executive Chefs Mike Sultan and Carolyn Nguyen of Revolution Taco, 33rd Street Hospitality Catering and Say Cheese Philly announce a new partnership with Neshaminy Creek's Brewing Company. The duo will debut the 33rd Street Hospitality Kitchen at Neshaminy's newly opened Borough Brewhouse (208 York Rd.) starting on July 5th. The kitchen will serve up a full menu of upscale pub fare to pair with the 30 selections of drafts pouring, including 6 drafts that will be made on location. Food selections will include new dishes designed specially for the Jenkintown kitchen, as well as several signature dishes from the duo's other restaurant and food trucks. Kitchen service will launch on July 5thstarting with dinner service Wednesday through Sundays, with expanded hours and days of operation in the fall. Table reservations for the 149 seat bar and dining room will be available later this summer.
