The hoppiest day of the year in South Philly is back! Hawthornes Beer Cafe (738 S. 11th Street) presents the ninth edition of their popular IPA block party back again with sparkling surprises added to the mix. The 9th Annual IPA, Champagne and Rose Block Party on Saturday, May 12, 2018, from 12:00pm to 8:00pm will still bring you one of the city's best line-ups of IPAs for only $5.00 each, plus small batch champagnes and roses. Come out for one of South Philadelphia's largest spring block parties, with over 75 total selections of beer, champagne, rose, plus food from ten food trucks, live music, family fun and much more. The party will stretch from 11th and Fitzwater to 11th and Catharine. This all day, all ages event is free, open to the public, and dog friendly. Newbold Community Development Corporation fires up the grills again for the 2nd Annual South Philly SausageFest on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 12:00pm to 8:00pm. South Philadelphia’s annual sausage-themed food fest takes place along West Passyunk Avenue (between South Broad and 15th streets). Look for sausage and sausage-inspired dishes cooked up in a variety of traditional and unique styles - including vegan - from ten restaurants and eateries that are part of the upcoming food scene on the other side of Broad Street. Festivities also include craft beer from seven breweries, live music, vendors and family fun. East Passyunk Celebrates Easter with Egg Hunt, Bunny Photos and Spring Brunch

Hop on down to East Passyunk Avenue for a day of ‘egg-citing’ Easter festivities! On Saturday, April 5, 2014, East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District (EPABID) presents its annual Easter Egg Hunt from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on the lawn of the South Philadelphia Older Adult Center (1430 East Passyunk). Children are invited to decorate egg collecting bags with Occasionette, enjoy treats from Beneficial Bank, dance to family-friendly tunes, hunt for prize-filled eggs and meet the Easter Bunny.  Egg Hunt times are staggered by age group, with four and under at 11:00 AM, five to seven at 12:00 PM and eight to ten at at 1:00 PM.  After the festivities, families are invited to enjoy special brunch menus and bakery discounts at participating eateries.  The Egg Hunt is free and open to the public.
