East Passyunk Quenches Summertime Thirst with Craft Beer Day and Italian National Day Festival
/East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District (EPABID) serves up a double dose of summertime fun with two festivals on Sunday, June 1, 2014. Starting at 11:00 AM, Philly Beer Week kicks off with 15 hours of craft beer events during Craft Beer Day. East Passyunk restaurants, bars and retailers will present opportunities to meet the brewers, try new craft beers, and enjoy beer-infused and inspired foods. Starting at 11:00am, Italian National Day Festival “La Festa Della Repubblica” will feature a full day of live music, the grand opening of the “History of Italian Immigration Museum,” Italian draft and bottled beer specials, outdoor food vendors, kids’ activities and a spaghetti eating contest. La Festa activities are held on East Passyunk Avenue, between Broad and Moore streets. Events are held rain or shine. Admission is free, unless otherwise noted. Food and drinks are pay-as-you-go. **Birra (1700 EPA) - IPA tap takeover with Southern Tier Nitro IPA, Great Lakes Lake Erie Monster, Stone Sublimely Righteous, Otter Creek Fresh Slice White IPA, Flying Fish Exit 16, Great Divide Rumble, Left Hand 400lb Monkey, Founders All Day, Fegleys Hopsolutly w/ Bretamytes, Unita Doobie, Yards Philly Beer Week special, Green Flash Road Warrior, plus Firkins from Weyerbacher and Yards. 11:30am to 10:00pm
**The Bottle Shop (1837 EPA) - Beer tub with $3.00 and $4.00 craft cans outside at Italian National Day Festival and Italian draft specials indoors. 11:00am to 10:00pm
**Garage (1231 EPA) - Troegs Brewers with Troeganator, Perpetual IPA and Sunshine Pils on special and catch the Phillies Game. Food cart will feature Two Birds Catering with 'Kegs & Eggs' brunch. 1:00pm to 4:00pm
**Le Virtu (1927 EPA) - Outdoor BBQ featuring grilled Abruzzesse fare with craft beer sampling and specials from SixPoint, Sly Fox, Victory and Weyerbacher. BONUS: Pitruco Pizza & Joe Cicala are collaborating on six wood fired pies for a Brigantessa pop-up. 1:00pm to 4:00pm
**Lucky 13 (1820 S. 13th) - Victory Brunch with DJ. 11:30am-4:00pm
*Ms Goody Cupcake (1838 EPA) - Beer infused cupcakes (Bx3: Blueberry Beer Belch, Double Chocolate Stout, Drunkin' Elvis with Well’s Banana Bread Beer ), beer-infused truffles and Oatmeal Peanut Butter Beer Cookie Sandwiches infused with Wells Banana Bread Beer. **Noir (1909 EPA) – Outdoor bar with $3.00 Victory Summer Love and $3.50 Troegs Perpetual IPA w/ raspberry puree, street food specials including $1.00 Montreal-style Hot Dogs, $4.00 Rice Balls and $5.00 Poutine, the Greg Farnese Trio will perform outside from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Food & beer specials 12:00pm to 7:00pm
**P.O.P.E. (1501 EPA) - "Brunch, Beer & Baseball" with Shawnee Craft Brewing tap takeover. For $25 enjoy brunch, a featured Shawnee Craft beer and a ticket to the Phillies vs. Mets game at 1:35pm. Call 215-725-5125 for a reservation or come in person. Tickets are limited. 10:00am to 3:00pm
Then at 3pm POPE's taps switch out for a double brewery tap takeover with Southern Tier Brewing and Bell's Brewing Company with brewery reps DJing their favorite records. Limited edition beers include Black Note bourbon barrel-aged stout from Bell's and a Belgian-style pale ale made just for PBW called 215 from Southern Tier. 3:00pm to 2:00am
**Stogie Joe's (1801 EPA) - Ball N Beer (meatball sandwich and 16 ounce Bell's Oberon) for $10.00, bucket of five Southern Tier beers for $15, and live music at 5pm. 11:00am to 12:00am

Filitalia International and Foundation presents Italian National Day Festival “La Festa Della Repubblica,” on East Passyunk Avenue, between Broad and Moore streets, from 11:00am to 7:00pm. Enjoy a full day of music, dancing, food, drinks, contests, prizes, family activities, vendors, shopping and more. Admission is free. The event is rain or shine. Highlights include:
