Dîner en Blanc will return to Philadelphia in the summer of 2014 for another evening filled with magic, food, fashion, art and music. Organizers of the pop-up picnic in white will announce the official date in June. In anticipation, the wait list officially opened today (click here). Past and potential guests are invited to an official preview party on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Williams-Sonoma in the Bellevue, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. No RSVP is required for the preview event.

The wait list is now officially open for this year’s Dîner en Blanc Philadelphia, an impromptu picnic that has grown into a global phenomenon that celebrates public space and “dinner as art.” Interested guests can visit the website and add their name to receive an official invitation. The wait list does not guarantee a spot to Dîner Blanc Philadelphia. It does ensure that wait list members will be notified when slots for the event go on sale in early summer. Past registered members of Dîner en Blanc automatically will receive notice of registration going on sale. The official date and number of slots available for 2014 will be announced in June.

In preparation for the summer’s most buzzed about soiree, co-hosts Natanya DiBona and Kayli Moran will throw a special preview party for past attendees and interested guests on Wednesday, June 4, 2014. The event runs from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Williams-Sonoma at the Bellevue, 200 S. Broad Street.

During the preview, guests will meet event organizers, volunteers and past attendees, and learn more about the event (what to wear, what to bring and where to buy it). Guests will also vote on a special table decorating contest themed, “Iconic Philadelphia.” Area florists, event planners, visual directors and home crafters will interpret the theme using a regulation size white table, chairs and linen, plus accessories of their choosing.

Garces Catering and DiBruno Brothers will be sampling items from their Diner en Blanc picnics and Touché Accessories will be selling an array of elegant white accessories including hats, fascinators and gloves.  There will also be wine tasting by Lillet, as well as live entertainment. Other collaborators for this year’s event, as well as the preview, include Arway Linens, Aversa PR & Events, Duke & Winston, France Magazine, Mole Street, Sofitel Philadelphia Hotel and Uber.

The preview party is free and open to the public, ages 21 and up only. No RSVP is required.

Dîner en Blanc Philadelphia debuted in 2012 at
Swann Memorial Fountain in Logan Circle. The sold out viral picnic attracted1,300 guests clad in white with their white tables, linens, china and décor.

In 2013, the event returned to even more viral and critical buzz. Over 6,000 people joined the wait list and registration slots sold out in just 24 minutes (vs. ten days in 2012). On the day of the event, 2,550 guests popped up in the middle of the JFK Bridge for dinner set against the cityscape to the East and 30th Street Station to the West.  Other surprises included three marriage proposals, a visit from Benjamin Franklin and Betsy Ross, and a white classic 1927 Rolls Royce.
