2nd Street Festival is proud to announce the launch of the Northern Liberties Night Market Series. This inaugural series of outdoor food festivals is rolling into the single fastest growing neighborhood in Philadelphia on Thursday, September 23rd, from 5:00pm to 10:00pm, on N. 2nd Street between Fairmount and Poplar streets. This new event will take place every spring and fall, and is a pivot and expansion by the operators of the city's 2nd Street Festival, which has been on hold during the pandemic. Glu Hospitality Debuts Leda and The Swan Popup Cocktail Garden in Northern Liberties

Glu Hospitality presents a limited-edition end-of-summer experience with the grand opening of Leda and The Swan Pop-up Cocktail Garden at 1033 N. 2nd Street, running from Saturday, August 21 to Sunday, September 5, 2021. The new al fresco cocktail and music hideaway will pop-up outside of the former home of Wahlburgers, next to the Piazza and across from El Camino and SET No Libs. This outdoor space come September will be part of one of the city's largest openings of the year when Glu will debut two side-by-side restaurant concepts Figo Ristorante and Figo Pizzeria. Northern Liberties Kicks Off The Planning Process For A New Streetscape Vision Plan

Northern Liberties Business Improvement District (NLBID) announces the development of the Northern Liberties Streetscape Vision Plan. The young business district enters its third full year of operation preparing for a major growth in residential and commercial business. The population in the popular Philadelphia neighborhood is expected to nearly double in two short years, with 4,600 new residential units and 184,655 square feet of commercial on deck or under construction. NLBID has selected award-winning architecture firm KieranTimberlake, whose own office is located in the heart of Northern Liberties, to partner with Philadelphia-based PORT Urbanism to re-envision the 2nd Street commercial corridor and set a path for the next ten years of growth. The public-realm focused plan will consider pedestrian, bike, and vehicular circulation, as well as furnishing, greening, lighting, signage, and other considerations including potential new spaces of community collection. Funding for the planning process is supported by a grant from the Penn Treaty Special Services District.

Northern Liberties Mural Hunt: Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Street Art will debut on Friday, May 28th and run through Monday, July 5th. Participants in the scavenger hunt can participate by downloading the free Let’s Roam app from Google Play or the Apple store, then locate the mural hunt on the app’s regional map. Once activated, participants can go at their own pace to find 20+ pieces of street art and murals, while learning about the art pieces' history and significance.
