Clean Air Council's Dine Out for the Environment Showcases Sustainable Restaurants Around the Region

Philadelphia restaurants will serve up their signature dishes and highlight their commitment to sustainability tomorrow (October 15, 2015) during Clean Air Council's Dine Out for the Environment. This second year event will give diners a sneak peek into impressive kitchens that work hard to support local farms, reduce waste and chemical usage, and leave the world a better place for future generations. Restaurants will donate 15-30% of their sales tomorrow to the Clean Air Council to support its work in the Philadelphia area.

“When Clean Air Council conceived the idea of hosting a sustainable restaurant night, I had no idea the commitment, creativity, and scope of what goes in to serving this amazing food and being environmentally friendly” said Clean Air Council Executive Director, Joseph Otis Minott, Esq.  “Philadelphians love to go to out to eat and now they support restaurants are doing their part to support sustainability.”

Participating restaurants were asked to submit all of their sustainable practices to Clean Air Council. There are traditional and non-traditional ways alike to be sustainable. From recycling and composting kitchen scraps, to sourcing locally, to using natural cleaning solutions such as water and vinegar.
