Christmas Village In Baltimore Postpones In-Person Season At Inner Harbor Until 2021
/It is with deep regret that Christmas Village in Baltimore, the authentic open-air and indoor German-style Christmas market at the Inner Harbor, is announcing its postponement of the 2020 in-person market due to the ongoing challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizers are looking forward to returning to Charm City and West Shore Park with an ever-expanding concept and new highlights in November 2021. Select vendors will come together on the event’s website and offer their goods virtually this year.
After a very challenging year with ever-changing directives for activations and outdoor markets, Christmas Village in Baltimore organizers made the difficult decision to postpone the annual in-person event to keep everyone safe this holiday season.
“Due to public health safety concerns and the uncertainty of COVID-19, we won’t be able to execute our market in a safe and pandemic-friendly way this year,” said Christmas Village President Thomas Bauer. “Our team worked tirelessly to produce a socially-distanced version of Christmas Village in Baltimore and to offer the people a piece of normalcy during these challenging times, but in consultation with the City of Baltimore, we decided to prioritize the safety of our staff, vendors, and guests and to focus on 2021. While we won’t be with you in person, we invite you to support some of your favorite select vendors with online shopping through our website.”
To uphold the holiday spirit during the pandemic, select Christmas Village vendors will offer their goods online. Organizers are currently working on developing virtual shopping options on the event’s website (www.baltimore-christmas.com). Fans of the authentic Christmas market are encouraged to consider supporting small businesses this season and to shop their holiday gifts at one of the vendor’s online stores - all from the comfort of their home. The online market is now live and open for virtual business.
While being on hiatus this year, the in-person event will be returning to West Shore Park at the Inner Harbor in November 2021. Organizers want to thank visitors, staff, and vendors for their continuous support over the last years and for making Christmas Village in Baltimore their new holiday tradition. The entire team is looking forward to returning to the new normal next winter and to get into the holiday spirit while shopping unique gifts and indulging in European food and drinks including Bratwurst, Schnitzel, Raclette Cheese, Gluhwine, and more.
