This summer, Brauhaus Schmitz at 718 South Street is transforming into Philadelphia’s ultimate destination for international soccer fans as the world’s biggest soccer tournament comes to North America. From June 11 through July 19, 48 countries will compete across 104 matches in a month-long global celebration of the beautiful game. Brauhaus Schmitz will host watch parties for the entire series, with 11 screens inside, decorations, special soccer pretzel bun burgers, limited edition soccer half liters, 2,000 cowbell giveaways in German colors, flags up and down the outside of the building - and FIVE outdoor watch block parties with a 20 foot LED screen.

South Street Maifest Returns with PA's Tallest Maypole, German Food, Dancing, Family Fun

Brauhaus Schmitz presents the 13th Annual Maifest spring festival and block party on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 11:00am to 8:00pm. Philadelphia's premiere German restaurant and beer hall will close down South Street at the 700 block for an all day, all ages celebration that will feature authentic German culture, live music, delicious food, and of course, plenty of German beer! The festivities will include Pennsylvania's largest Maypole, performances by Die Heimatklange Band and United German Hungarian Dance group, Liter Lift Competition, Pig Roast, face painting, flower crowns, keg tapping, games and fun for the whole family. The all-day outdoor block party is no charge to attend, with food and drink pay as you go. VIP tickets are also available for $100 and include food, drink and access to the Brauer Bund where you will find seating, private bathroom, an extensive German Food Buffet and TVs to catch sporting events of the day and the Kentucky Derby.
