Located on the beautiful banks of the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, the Run is a celebration of sustainable and healthy neighborhoods, clean air, and improvements in the region’s overall environmental health. The Run is Clean Air Council's largest fundraiser for the year, and one of the oldest charity races in the region.

Nearly 2,500 participants are expected to run and walk in four races (5K Run, PHLY 10K Run, 3K Walk, Kids’ fun run) while family and friends cheer them on. Afterwards, enjoy Earth Day at a special open-air festival in front of the iconic Philadelphia Museum of Art featuring an eco beer garden, food and drink, games, vendors, music and interactive displays.

The Run for Clean Air Presented by Toyota Hybrids has something for everyone:
* 5K Run: A flat, fast, scenic course along MLK Drive
* PHLY10K Run Presented by Philadelphia Insurance Companies: an exciting longer distance run
* 3K Walk: A fun and spirited stroll to celebrate Earth Day
* Kids Fun Run: A 1/2 mile fun run for ages 6 - 12 and 250 yard dash for ages 5 & under

As one of the greenest races in the country, PA Region 3 is recognizing the Run for Clean Air for efforts to reduce waste, provide eco-friendly materials, and educate participants. Among those measures, all shirts and bags are made from recycled material, waste from the race is recycled and composted, the entire event is powered by solar energy, and Toyota Hybrids will provide hybrid cars for use as pace vehicles. As an added new bonus, each finisher will receive an eco-friendly medal, which also functions as a reusable tool!

Not only is the Run for Clean Air green, it is fun. Unique highlights include:
*PECO Smart Ideas with 150 LED light bulb packets to the first 150 visitors
*Wrapped SEPTA hybrid bus with free shoelaces and SEPTA  games with prizes
*Wrapped hybrid pace cars from Toyota
*Environmental education exhibits
*Solar powered generator
