Northern Liberties Presents Hound-O-Ween Pet Costume Contest and Festival to Help Street Tails

Philadelphia's largest Halloween pet costume contest is back - and cuter than ever! Northern Liberties Business Improvement District partners with Street Tails Animal Rescue on the 7th Annual Hound-O-Ween Fall Festival and Doggie Costume Contest. The event is back in person and moves to the intersection of Laurel and N. 2nd Street, on Sunday, October 31st, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. This year, to ensure proper health and safety protocols, 40 of the region's most festively decked out pets are invited to strut across the stage. Contestants will compete for prizes in four categories for prizes, plus all pets will compete for the grand prize of $500, sponsored by Wilson’s Estate Jewelry. Registration for this annual benefit is only a $30 donation per pet. All proceeds benefit Street Tails Animal Rescue in their mission to help homeless and unwanted animals in the Philadelphia area.

Craft Hall and Mainstay Independent Brewing Announce Ten Day Oktoberfest Celebration

Celebrate Oktoberfest at Craft Hall, Philadelphia's largest indoor restaurant! Bartenders were working in their restaurants late one night, when from their bars to their streeteries they beheld an eerie sight. The city's top Bloody Mary began to rise, and suddenly to their surprise the top foodie neighborhood did the mash. Neighbors and visitors are doing the Monster Mash. The Northern Liberties Bloody Mary Challenge will be a true spooky-season smash. With tons of great brunch spots all in a row, the competition caught on in a bacon-infused flash!

Philadelphia Zoo is proud to announce that its Albert M. Greenfield Foundation UNLESS™ Contest (The UNLESS Contest) has been awarded the prestigious, national Innovation Education Award at the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Annual 2020 Conference. The Conference is the largest, most comprehensive zoo and aquarium professionals’ event in the country. Philadelphia Zoo was selected as the winner by peers from 240 zoos and aquariums across the country. The Innovation Education Award recognizes outstanding achievement in educational program design, judging programs on the ability to promote conservation knowledge, attitudes and behavior, show innovation, and measure success.

Valley Forge Casino Resort Announces The Grand Opening Of Dueling Pianos By Howl At The Moon

Howl at the Moon brings the dueling piano experience to Philadelphia’s suburbs starting this week. Valley Forge Casino Resort (1160 First Avenue) and The Vault nightclub and music venue welcome Howl at the Moon each and every Saturday, with the grand opening slated for January 14, 2017. Get ready to sing, dance and howl as the versatile and talented musicians perform live music from 80’s rock, 90’s pop and today’s dance hits on pianos. Doors open at 8:00pm and the live show from 9pm to 12:30am. The party continues at The Vault until 2am. Admission is free and open to those 21 and up only.
