Philadelphia School of Circus Announces the Grand Opening of Philadelphia's Only Permanent Outdoor Flying Trapeze School

Celebrate your freedom to fly! Philadelphia School of Circus Arts announces the grand opening of Philadelphia Flying Trapeze. Philadelphia's only permanent outdoor flying trapeze school will offer two-hour outdoor flying trapeze lessons at Circus Campus, 6452 Greene Street in West Mt. Airy - conveniently directly next to the Upsal SEPTA Station. The first lessons take flight this weekend as a preview, with the official grand opening set for Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 10:30am.

East Passyunk Revs Engines for 13th Annual Car Show and Street Festival with Hot Rides, Street Food, Live Bands, Family Fun and More

East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District (EPABID) is revving up for the 13th Annual Car Show and Street Festival presented by Jefferson Health Methodist Hospital on Sunday, July 29, 2018, from 11:00am to 4:00pm, on EPA between Broad and Dickinson streets. Look for nearly 175+ muscle, classic, antique, custom and show cars, trucks and motorcycles will line the Avenue, with street vendors, circus performances, rack sales, kids’ activities, live music and the Bang! Boom! CRAFT! Show in between. Wine and dine among the cars as award-winning restaurants and food trucks serve specially priced street food and summertime drinks. Admission is FREE for attendees and $20 for cars. Check-in for cars is moved up this year to 8:00am to 11:00 am. The event's rain date is Sunday, August 5, 2018. East Passyunk's Top Restaurants Take to the Streets for Flavors on the Avenue Festival

East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District presents Flavors on the Avenue street festival on Sunday, April 29, 2018, from 11:00am to 5:00pm. The city’s first big restaurant festival of the spring will feature five blocks of street food, seasonal sips, craft beer, live music, sidewalk sales and free family fun – from Broad to Dickinson streets. Over twenty-four award-winning restaurants, cafes and bars will bring their signature cuisine outside under the blue skies. Craft beer, signature cocktails and wine will pour from select restaurants out on the street, as well as inside the new Founders Brewing Co. Tasting Tent. East Passyunk Flavors on the Avenue is free to attend and open to all ages. Food will be specially priced between $3.00 and $6.00 (average) and be pay-as-you-go from individual restaurants.

Philadelphia Easter Promenade to Hop Down South Street on Easter Sunday

Hop on down to South Street Headhouse District for some free, egg-citing family fun during the 87th annual Easter Promenade on Sunday, April 1, 2018. Come dressed in Sunday Best and parade down South Street in this grand and popular tradition that is the region's largest event on Easter Sunday. Master of ceremonies Henri David returns to lead the parade from the corner of Passyunk Avenue/South Street down to Headhouse Square (2nd Street) at 12:30pm. Enjoy Easter treats, live music from the Philadelphia Freedom Band, the Bunny Hop, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Cottontail and much more. Bring your camera and stick around to meet the Easter Bunny himself, and see who wins the best dressed contests! The parade itself kicks off at 12:30pm with judging until approximately 2:00pm.

Azuka Theatre Kicks off 2017-2018 Season with World Premiere of The Gap by Emma Goidel

Azuka Theatre kicks off their 18th season with the world premiere of The Gap by Emma Goidel. Rebecca Wright directs this dark comedy and mystery that centers around family secrets, performing, and sisterhood. Audiences will ask themselves, what's ultimately worse: forgetting or remembering? Presented in the Louis Bluver Theatre at The Drake, The Gap previews begin Wednesday, November 1, opens on Saturday, November 4 and runs through November 19, 2017. All tickets for The Gap and other shows this season are Pay What You Decide, whereas audience members see a show first, and pay what they decide after the performance. Christmas Village in Philadelphia announces its return to LOVE Park for its 10th anniversary. Philadelphia’s largest holiday attraction will be the first event to be held in newly renovated LOVE Park (1500 Arch Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102). From Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 23th, 2017) through Christmas Eve (Sunday, December 24th, 2017), Christmas Village will transform LOVE Park into an authentic open-air German Christmas market with holiday sights and sounds featuring thousands of twinkling lights, festive Christmas decorations, live music at the main stage, children’s activities and photos with Santa. Shoppers will find high-quality, international and local gifts along with decorations.
